Unexpected News

"We Can Still Do This"

Note: This chapter is pretty short because I just have an idea of where to take this. I still have to think about how to put it into words.
And the reason why I haven't been posting is because I started an internship and it's my last year of college so I also have to write a thesis. So good luck to me 😂😂

Since you told Mac about the pregnancy, things have been great between the two of you. You've been even more in love with each other and your baby.

But as the weeks passed and your belly got bigger, so did your insecurities. Because Mac was spending a lot of time at work, you started to think that maybe he was starting to fall out of love.

Because you were off the field, you could only assist strategically from the war room and after the last mission, you really wanted to see Mac, hug him, kiss him.

So when you heard that he arrived, you went to wait for him on the lobby.
"Mac! Finally" you hug him and he hugs you back
"Y/N! I thought you would wait at the war room" he said, a little suspiciously.
You frown and look at the others before returning you gaze to him.
"Yeah, but I missed you so I couldn't wait. You didn't like it?"
"No, I mean, yes! I loved it!" He smiles
But you can see that he's hiding something.
"I, uh.. I have to go change, but I will meet you at the war room so we can go home together, okay?"
"Okay, yeah" you answer and when you're about to go in for a kiss, he looks at something or someone behind you and runs off saying he'll be right back.

If you weren't paranoid before, you definitely are now. You were about to go to the war room to wait for him, when you heard his voice in the locker room. You quietly get close to the door that is slightly open to try to listen to what they're saying.

"We can't keep doing this, she's smart. She's gonna figure this out" Mac says
When the other voice speaks, you couldn't believe your ears.
It was Jill.
"I know, Mac. But this is going great, she'll never find out. We can still do this" she pleads him
The one word he said next shattered your world more than anything ever has.
"Okay"

You've heard enough. You run out, tears on your eyes. You bump into Riley, who immediately notices something is wrong.

"Hey, are you okay?" She asks
You start crying uncontrollably and run out of the building. You get your car and you just start driving, not really knowing where to go. You didn't want to go home, so you went to the first place you could think of.
The place where Mac asked you to marry him.
