First and second period were a blur for Lizzy. No one really talked to her and the teachers were boring as hell. One girl had tried to befriend her but she was a little too cheery for Lizzy so she shrugged her off. And not to mention she couldn’t stop thinking about the mysterious voices in her head.

‘Drop it, Lizzy,’ the first voice had said to her. But she just couldn’t.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the bell to end the period. She looked at her schedule as she exited the class, “3rd Period Drama, Room 214 Miss Gordon. Drama?! I hate acting! Dammit, dad!” Lizzy was probably the worst actress ever and her father knew that. She made a mental note to get after him for signing her up for it, later.

She entered the black box and glanced at the students already there. Sitting lazily in a chair, only meters away, was the curly haired boy in all his glory. His green eyes, sparkling and vibrant, stood out against his pale face. His gorgeous brown curls bounced as he laughed with his group of equally gorgeous boys. She must’ve been staring for ages because suddenly a girl whispered in her ear, “They’re pretty hot, eh?”

She blushed but didn’t want this girl to know the affect they had on her so she rolled her eyes and laughed, “More like pretentious, cocky assholes. Minus Liam, maybe.”

“You’ve been here for three hours and you already know that? You learn fast…uh…..?” The girl’s smiled.

“Elizabeth, well Lizzy. I prefer Lizzy,” she smiled back. This girl didn’t seem that bad. She was incredibly pretty and she seemed really nice. “What’s your name?”

“Eleanor. I used to be absolutely in love with the brunette with the blue eyes, Louis, until he publically humiliated this girl who’s a little on the nerdy side for accidentally bumping into him once. Everyone else laughed but that poor girl was in tears. I learned that those ‘sex gods’ weren’t as godly as they appear that day. Except for Liam, he’s a huge sweetheart. And Niall when he wants to be. Niall’s the blondie,” Eleanor explained. Lizzy glanced once at the guys and then frowned before looking back at Eleanor.

“Wow. You really can judge a book by its cover.”

“Pretty much,” Eleanor laughed. “Wanna sit by me and laugh at all the idiots drooling over them?”

“Definitely!” Yeah, Lizzy and Eleanor were gonna get along perfectly.

“So tell me about the ‘hotties,’” Lizzy asked when they were seated in the back row.

“Well four of them are british and one is irish-“

“Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke,” she laughed and Eleanor chimed in with her.

“Good morning, class!” An elderly woman dressed like she was in the 70s interrupted the girls when the bell had rung.

“Good morning, Miss Gordon,” the students said unenthusiastically.

“We have a new student with us named Elizabeth Thompson. Stand up, dear. Introduce yourself!” The lady smiled.

Lizzy groaned and stood up. “Hi, I’m Lizzy,” she sighed.

“Tell us something about yourself!” The teacher urged.

“Yeah, tell us something, Lizzy!” The boy she assumed was Zayn, yelled and the classroom erupted into laughter.

She rolled her eyes and waited for the laughing to cease. “Well one thing about me is that I don’t to crap from assholes like you Mr. Popular,” she smiled evilly while the class gasped and he stared at her wide eyed. She sat back down feeling extremely accomplished. Nice one, babe, the second voice said in her head.

Oh, great. You’re back? I was just starting to feel normal! She yelled mentally.

Only for a second! Just to commend you on telling off Zayn. He deserved it! Lizzy frowned and dug her head in her hands.

“Lizzy are you okay?!” Eleanor asked beside her.

“Yeah, just a headache,” she grimaced.

Did you just call me a headache? The voice laughed but Lizzy just ignored it this time. She wanted Eleanor to think she wasn’t a complete freak like everyone else seemed to.

“Well, thank you Miss Thompson for that uh….lovely introduction….Um…. Shall we continue with the class show and tell then?” Ms. Gordon asked everyone. The class groaned and the teacher sat her desk with an excited grin. Show and tell? How old were they? Five? “Who’d like to go first? Mr. Styles?” She heard someone sigh loudly and in a huge over exaggeration while the group of boys laughed loudly. The curly haired boy stood up and walked slowly to the stage. He really was gorgeous and extremely fit; she could see his biceps sticking out of his tight grey t-shirt. She almost drooled, herself. But then she remembered him and his friends were jerks and shook the thoughts of him out of her head.

“Erm…So basically, I’m Harry.” Lizzy gasped loudly and went wide eyed. The voice! He was one of the voices! Everyone turned to face her with confused looks and her eyes met his for the second time. She was in complete shock. How had he spoken in her thoughts? She felt herself start to shake as his brilliant green eyes bore into her own.

Calm down, Lizzy, The first voice warned.

“Elizabeth, are you alright?!” Ms. Gordon asked frantically.

Lizzy, relax.

You know threatening me isn’t helping anything; she thought back but decided to listen. “Uh….yes I just thought I saw a spider. I have uh…arachnophobia.” Nobody looked convinced but she saw Harry trying to fight a grin. She shot him a glare.

“Well alright then. Harry, continue,” their teacher nodded to him.

“Right…so well today I brought,” he pulled a rock of his jeans and showed it to the class, “my pet rock that I named after Louis.” He smiled brightly and looked at the class.

“A man after my own heart!” She heard someone say in their class say and almost gasped again. It was the other voice. But she wasn’t as she shocked as before. She must’ve been partially expecting the other voice to be a friend of Harry. Harry’s gaze met hers again but she looked away quickly. She was too confused to look at him, or any of the boys for that matter. For the rest of class she stared absent mindedly at the chair in front of her while the other students presented their things for show and tell. She didn’t want to think about anything in fear that the boys would randomly return into her mind. It wasn’t until class was over and Eleanor nudged her softly in the shoulder that she was brought back to reality.

“Hey, Lizzy. Wanna sit with me and my friends at lunch?” Eleanor smiled warmly. Lizzy nodded and picked up her bag as Eleanor waved and walked out the door. Lizzy rushed to follow her and slammed into a tall figure. “Oh, sorry!” She said and looked up to face Harry Styles. Her eyes widened and she walked away quickly.

“Lizzy, wait!” She heard him yell after her. She ignored him and kept walking.

Lizzy, please! I need to talk to you! He begged in her thoughts.

Oh, please just leave me alone! All of you! She cried and rushed into her next class. Harry didn’t reply.
