Nothing is Ever Perfect

Perfect. Everything was just perfect. Lizzy had great friends, a great family, good grades, but more importantly, she had Harry. They were the perfect couple, the kind of couple everyone was jealous of. But that didn’t even matter because when they were together, nothing did. Lizzy found herself literally waking up every day with a smile just because she would see him only a few hours later. Today was no different.

She got ready for school quickly and was out the door in record time. As usual, Harry was leaning against the passenger’s door of his car with his adorable smirk, waiting for her. A smile spread across her face as she walked towards him. “Morning,” he said and pulled her against his chest tightly.

“Yeah morning,” she breathed out and hugged him back. He pushed her away to plant a sweet, lingering kiss on her lips before pulling away and smirking once again. The two got in the car and made their way to school. They drove in a comfortable silence. After about two minutes, Harry had taken his right hand off the steering wheel and held it out to Lizzy, which she took gladly, but that was the most either of them did until they reached the school. He parked and ran to open the door for her. “Thank you, kind sir,” she giggled.

“Your welcome, fair maiden,” he chuckled in return. He rested his right arm lazily on her shoulder as they walked to their friends.

“Hey Lizzy! Hey Harry!” Liam smiled warmly.

“Morning guys!”

They all mumbled varieties of “good mornings” back to her and then returned to their conversation, which Harry joined in on.

“Yeah so, just be careful. We don’t know what she’s capable of,” Louis said suddenly in a serious tone.

Lizzy furrowed her eyebrows as she noticed all the guys had scowls on their faces. “What’s going on?” she wondered.

“Oh it’s nothing to worry about, Liz. Just....guy stuff,” Niall smiled but Lizzy knew he was lying.

“But Louis just told you to be careful....Who do you have to be careful of? And why?”

The boys exchanged worried glances before Louis finally spoke up,” We can sense when other vampires are near and this morning I felt the presence of a very strong one. A girl to be exact. And then I saw on the news that three people were found dead in the woods. She could be very dangerous. And not to mention vampires get territorial, she might try to fight us for Acton.” Lizzy’s eyes widened in fear. Fight the boys for Acton? Would she have to....kill them? She felt her eyes begin to water as she thought of Harry fighting the vampire girl.

“Don’t worry, Lizzy. We can take some silly little girl,” Zayn smiled and patted her shoulder. The others nodded except for Louis who seemed to be deep in thought.

I’ll be okay, babe. I got them to protect me,” Harry chuckled in her mind. Just then all five boys shot their heads up and began searching the parking lot frantically.

“She’s here!” Niall hissed. Harry pushed Lizzy up against Liam’s car and stood in front of her protectively. She clutched his arm tightly and also looked for her. “Look! By the front entrance!” She looked for a girl dressed in all black and with red lipstick. Typical vampire attire, right? But instead she found a very well dressed, very pretty, girl wearing a navy blue polka dotted shirt, a cute black skirt with high heeled ankle boots. Her long brown hair hung over her pale skin and a small smirk played on her plump pink lips. Lizzy tightened her grip on Harry’s arm as jealousy settled in the pit of her stomach. Lizzy was never one to get jealous, but this girl was just that beautiful.

“Woah, she’s hot!” Niall exclaimed and her smirk grew as if she had heard him, which she probably did.

“Damn, you’re right Niall,” Zayn agreed and Lizzy noticed him bite his lip.

“No matter how fit she is, she’s still dangerous. I’m gonna read her thoughts,” Louis said and narrowed his eyes. After a couple seconds, his expression changed to one of shock.

“Lou, what is it?” Liam wondered.

“It’s not....it’s not her mind,” he whispered in disbelief.

“What?” Everyone looked back in forth between the girl and Lou’s still shocked face. Just then another girl stepped out from behind her and looked at the ground nervously. This girl was completely different in comparison to the first. She looked more timid. She wore an oversized sweatshirt (in the middle of spring) over her dark washed skinny jeans and her face was covered by her glasses and long black hair that was barely hidden under a grey beanie.

“She’s smarter than we thought,” Harry growled.

“Stronger too,” Zayn added.

“Damn, the other girl was strong enough alone. This girl is on a whole other level,” Louis narrowed his eyes once again and then sighed in defeat. “She has the ability to block me out completely. She can even do it for the other one. I can’t read either of them anymore.” The girl smiled mischievously and winked at the group before walking towards the school, her friend following closely behind.

“Looks like we’re gonna need to keep our guard up at all times,” Niall sighed.

“Louis needs to learn how to break her wall,” Liam added.

“Shit! I can feel her in my thoughts!” Harry yelled suddenly.

“Fuck! Me too!”

“Damn she’s good!”

“So what does this all mean then?”

“It means that she’s gonna be a problem.....a big one.”

Hey, Lizzy! A girl's sweet voice rang in her thoughts. I'm Amy and the other girl is my friend Makayla. You seem nice, so deliver this message to Louis and the boys. 'Leave now, and no one will die." Her voice lowered at the last part and Lizzy's jaw dropped. Oh yes, Amy would definitely be a big problem...
