[Anzel's POV]
"His scent is... so enticing. More so nowadays, I noticed. Every time we meet I just can't react in any other way but to pin him down, but it's not the time, nor the place yet. I still got a few months before graduation to fully take over the pack & then announce to everyone that I've found my mate." I thought to myself.
"But I'm not sure if he'll react positively. He seems to not have the same reactions as mine... In fact.. it looks like he's not comfortable at all being around me. Am I too intimidating to an Omega? Or only to him? The other Omegas in the pack seem to just act like usual..."
A sudden faint scent of Kline's reaches my nose. Instinctively, my head turns closer toward where it comes from. "The common room." My mouth whispers to no one in particular, as my feet start to walk toward the said room. If anybody asks, I'll just say I'm only making the last round to check on everyone & everything.
There are several other werewolves using the facilities inside the common room, but I'm only seeing that Kline's just finishing his book and gathering his stuff to retire for the day. The awkward Omega flinches ever so slightly as he finally notices my presence in the room the second I step through the door.
"Damn... I feel slightly hurt by his natural reflex... never mind." I can only hope that I hide it well enough that nobody notices the change in my walking pace. "Cool it."
I walk past the nervous Omega as casually as I can as I pretend to scan the whole room with my eyes. "Everything's okay here? Nothing broke or need replacement or anything, guys?"
"Everything's good, Alpha." One of the men playing at the pool table replies good-naturedly.
"Alright, thanks. I'll... see you three in the morning round." I say distractedly as I sense that Kline's retreating sneakily behind my back. "Wait." My mouth runs off without me realising.
Kline freezes mid-gait, but keeps himself turned away from me. "What a stubborn Omega... I might need extra work or... help... if I ever need to convince Kline about me. But, for now..."
"Kline." I speak as neutrally and quietly as possible. "I need to talk to you. Can you come with me to the office?"
As he finally turn his head toward me, I can see Kline's eyes bulged for a second as his alerted expression turns into a confused one. Good. He's not actually afraid of me. "Let's go." I prompt Kline as I start to exit the common room.
"Thank the Goddess he's actually following behind me. I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't..." I sigh internally as I sniff his sweet scent quietly. It's very calming, but still very arou-
Stop right there, you. You don't want your mate to be frightened by your own doing. It's not the time yet. He doesn't know yet. Maybe. Ugh! How can I break the news to this clueless sexy little-
"Anzel."
Pops stops right in front of us at the office's entrance. His aura seems off. He's pissed at something.
"Yes Pops. What's up?"
He looks at the both of us in slight confusion, as I wait for his command. But his expression completely changes in a matter of second as something clicks in his mind.
Shit, he knows.
He speaks to Kline, who's fidgeting nervously behind me. "Kline, can I speak to my son in privacy? Sorry for the interruption, it's an emergency. You may be excused for now."
"Yes, Alpha. It's okay. I'll take my leave now."
I close my eyes as I hear his footsteps retreating from the office floor toward the stairs. I'll miss his wonderful scent again...
"Come on in, son." Pops speaks from behind his desk. I come in and close the door as he stares at me.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He pouts at me comically. "All this time, Anzel. You could have."
"He still doesn't know it either... so I don't want to break the news until he knows it himself, first. So far, nobody knows but you."
"Oh? He's late?" I just nod at him stiffly. He nods back.
He'll tell Mom, and Mom will surely throw a party by tomorrow, even if they won't tell the whole pack what's it for. And Sis will eventually know, and when she gets back here she and Mom will plan a wedding reception for us... Ugh... My family is so enthusiastic about this kind of thing. So are the both sides of their families. It's going to overwhelm Kline so much he's going to suffocate from their attention alone.
Not in my watch. "Anyway Pops, what's the emergency?"
Pops turns into his serious full Alpha mode immediately.
