[Kline's POV]
I walk nervously beside Anzel toward our parents' house. It's been so long that I've stepped inside this cottage house.
I don't have a valid reason why I avoid getting back home every now and then, even just for a quick drop by. I'm not even that busy... And they've stopped asking ever since I work full time outside, in the town.
I need to apologise to Mom and Pops.
"This is your first time coming home in a long while, right?" Anzel breaks my internal battle gently. I look up at him in shame.
"Yeah..."
"You know we're not angry with you, right?"
"I'm not sure, Anzel." I smile at him sheepishly.
He chuckles lightly. It sounds nice... "We miss you lots, actually. It's not the same just talking with you around the pack house. You have to come home more frequently, alright? Mom told me to tell you personally."
"Me too... I... I don't know why I just..." I sigh visibly.
"It's okay, Kline. You don't have to tell us anything, just be there. The three of them have cooked a mini feast just for you, you know?"
"Oh, crap..."
Anzel laughs at seeing my miserable face.
"It's not like I'm a celebrity or anything big! Why are you guys making this a big deal?!"
Anzel continues to laugh as we approach the cottage a few metres more. "Well, you are one of us, so it is a big deal. We really do miss you, Kline."
My eyes blur as we climb up the front porch stairs, and I feel my face heating up from the overflowing feelings.
I'm suddenly surrounded by Anzel's warmth and scent as he hugs me to himself.
I wrap my arms around his torso and bury my face in his shoulder, basking in the familiar presence of his that seem more... inviting to me, than ever before.
He's so big now... He's all grown up...
So, I know I can't pat his head anymore as thanks for lifting my spirit up.
Is everyone leaving me?
My heart aches as I take in the words of the small voice from the back of my mind.
I sniff as I detach myself from him slowly. "Uhm, thanks. I don't know I needed that hug."
I avoid looking into Anzel's eyes when I hear footsteps coming from the inside of the cottage.
"Kline!!!!" Fana shouts as she jumps onto me excitedly.

Even if they're all my favourite food, I can't finish everything.
By the time I feel like my stomach is bursting, there's still half of the food untouched.
"Can I bring everything over to the pack house? There's still a plenty of young stomachs needing homemade meatballs rather than I." I look at Mom shyly.
"Sure, pack them up, Kline!" Mom says approvingly. I don't waste any time.
-
Anzel watches me as I redistribute the packed food for everyone in the kitchen. They all inhaled the delicious food within a few minutes, then thank the both of us and also to Pops, Mom and Fana simultaneously through the pack link. It has become lively as they chat around for a bit more before everyone calls it a night.
