Arriving at the edge the of Mortimer's woods, Nicholae wondered just how this meeting was going to go.
He parked the car under a shady tree and proceeded to find them.
As a noble, he wasn't taught to use his basic senses to track down his prey or target.
But since, he had spent so much time tracking down the witches, he had no choice to depend on his instincts. Niko wouldn't live a completely pampered life he had lived.
His son would be able learn the basic survival skills.
The nobles took a lot for granted since they had phenomenal strength, sight and sense of smell- among other things. But Niko wasn't a purebred as Ivan liked to remind him, so he would have to teach his son. And now that he'd found what he had scoured the earth for, he could intensify his training.
One thing he'd do is bring him here to Mortimer's Woods where the distractions were numerous. Nicholae would admit he was struggling to focus on the one scent he was looking for and his sight was hindered somewhat.
So he took off his Ray Bans sunglasses.
From his side, he heard the wild dogs tearing some poor creature apart.
He grimaced at the chance of having to fight the mindless creatures away. The fact they were the size of motorcycles and they, like wolves, traveled in packs, made it difficult to successfully fend them off.
With the possible threat detected, he continued his search.
He soon came upon Semi in a green knee-length dress, sitting on a stool. There was an isolated shed in the woods and that's what she sat under. He'd never expected such a thing in these parts.
'It's a mirage of sorts.'she answered his unspoken question.
Nicholae raised his eyebrows at her. He sat opposite from her.
'I'm glad that you decided to have this meeting. You made the right choice Semi.' He patted her hand which was placed in her thigh. Then he looked around.
'Did you come alone?'
His question was instantly answered by Osei who swaggered towards them with a threatening look in his eyes.
'No. She did not.'
His dreadlocks were fell loosely on his bare shoulders. He only clothing he wore a pair of khaki shorts. No shoes, no socks. Nothing else.
This allowed Nicholae to see the small dark wound that marred the otherwise clear washboard abs.
Osei grabbed a seat and placed himself beside his mate.
'I was just telling Semi that she made a good call meeting me here. And I see you went on a run. Are we still making up our minds?'
'He went to make sure the other creatures kept their distance. Malaki and Loki are caught up with something else.' Semi replied.
She looked at Osei before speaking again.
'Osei and I are willing to help you however we can-'
'But we aren't turning my mate into a tree.'Osei cut in.
'We don't have to worry about that now.'
Nicholae would compromised for now. But after he got the chance to explain the greater with Semi alone, she would she the good in what he was asking of her. Osei would have to respect her decision if he truly loved her.
Osei calmed down marginally.
'We want to know what exactly you need from Osei.'
Nicholae carefully produced his answer.
'The promise that when his pack is needed, we can rely on them they'll have our backs.
'Is that all?' Osei impatiently ground out.
Semi's hand quickly sought out his.
'And you'll have to help me track the last descendant of Ximena. We will also have to convince the dragons in the mountains. And they wouldn't listen unless the leader of the clans come before them. That means you'll have to convince Cornelius.'
