Please God please, let this lesson be longer.
My eyes were glued to the clock. Five more minutes and this period is over, it said. For the first time in my life I wasn't looking forward to lunch. I just wasn't able to look Eric in the eye anymore. Not after what he did in that closet.
I may have looked like a sixteen year old girl, but I was mentally still a 12 year old boy. That meant that my mind would twist every word, that would come out of Erics mouth, into something dirty. I had been too shocked too laugh when our local man whore was doing it in the closet, but I wasn't shocked anymore.
"Ok class that was it for today," the teacher said.
"No!" I wanted to scream, but held back from doing so.
I slowly put my books in my bag and shuffled to the door. As always the hall was packed with hungry teenagers. After blood, sweat and tears I finally made it to the cafeteria.
I can still escape!
But that thought quickly went away when I saw Laura waiting for me at the entrance. She waved and made a gesture to follow her. I tried to walk as slowly as possible, but we still arrived at the table within seconds.
"Guys," Laura said.
"This is Hannah," she gestured to me."Hannah, let me introduce you to the guys," she cleared her throat and started her introduction.
"This one right here is Jason," she pointed at the brown haired boy who was air drumming to the whatever song he was listening to. "As you can see, he's a very social guy."
A bit more air than usual escaped my nose.
Laura continued with her introduction and gestured at two blonde haired boys. "Meet Marc and Jake, or as I like to call them-."
"Don't say it!" they both growled.
"-My children."
She patted both of them on the head.
A chuckle escaped me. Laura looked at me with calculating eyes and moved on.
"This one right here," she nodded her head to the black haired boy that was reading a book. "Is Daniel, our local sad boy. He likes to look out of windows, especially when it's raining."
Daniel and I snorted at the same time. I immediately liked him. My gaze moved back to Laura. She was walking to the only boy left at the table.
"And this one, you already met," Laura chuckled. "As you know he really likes to pound on doors, closet doors especially. We don't know why though. Please Eric, enlighten us."
Eric just shook his head, smirking.
Fuck, my mind can't handle this.
I clamped a hand over my laughing mouth. Laura gave me a cheeky smile, but she frowned after noticing the girl that was sitting on Eric's lap.
"I'm sorry honey, but who are you again?" she asked.
"Lisa," the girl said in a duh-tone.
"And now you know Lisa," Laura said with an apologetic smile.
I sat down next to Daniel and Laura sat next to me. I looked at the people that were sitting at this table. Jason was head banging, the two brothers were stuffing their faces, Daniel was still reading and Eric was whispering things into Lisa's ear. The girl started to look like a tomato. Eric noticed me staring and gave me a friendly smile.
I looked away and moved my gaze at my friend. She was teaching the two brothers how to use a fork and knife. My head turned to Daniel.
"What are you reading?" I asked.
"The story of William Jones."
"What's it about?"
"It's about a man who wishes to be desired by everyone," he begins. "So he starts to observe men who are desired by women. He eventually sets his eyes on this one man who is desired by all the women. For months he observes him: how he acts, walks, talks and dresses. He writes everything down, even the ways how women try to seduce the man. In the end he falls in love with the man himself."
"Wow," I said, feeling the urge to read the book.
Daniel looked at me.
"Here," he closed the book and handed it over to me.
"Weren't you reading it?"
"I have another copy at home," he shrugged.
The bell rang.
"It was nice meeting you Hannah," he got up and walked away.
"It was nice meeting you too," I shouted after him.
