I gratefully took Eric's hand.
"Are you okay?" He asked, after he helped me up. He seemed worried.
"I'm fine," I said, waving his question away, while ignoring the sharp pain I was feeling in my behind.
His eyes were intensely looking at my face.
"Have we met before?"
"I sat at your table once during lunch."
He seemed confused, as if he didn't remember.
"You were rather.....busy with something else," I said uncomfortably.
He had been swallowing a girl's face, but I refrained from saying that to him.
Realisation struck on his face.
"I'm sorry-" he started, but I cut him off. "I get it, you need to work fast if you wanna win"
"Can I ask you a question?" This had been on my mind for a while.
He opened his mouth to respond, but I beated him to it.
"Ah fuck it, I'll ask anyway," I started. "What do you gain from this bet, besides from a lot of sex."
He was speechless for a minute, his mouth hanging open. I was tempted to close it for him, but withhold from doing so.
"I'm sorry, but did we have-," he asked, while doing some weird hand gestures.
I was about to say no, when an idea struck me.
Laura had told me that there had been a party at Theo Samuels's house the night before and a lot of the people there had been drinking their brains out, including Eric.
I nodded, faking a look of adoration.
"At Theo Samuels house, remember?" It took me a lot of effort to hide my smile. "I wouldn't have wanted my first time to be any other way."
I tried to look shy, innocent, but mostly in love.
"W-would you like to grab a coffee sometime?" I stammered.
Eric's eyes widened.
"Eh....I'm.... what was your name again?" He started to shift awkwardly.
"Hannah."
"Right...look Hannah, I uh....have to go somewhere," he started to look everywhere but my face. "I'll...see you around."
He walked away, mumbling a goodbye. I watched him go until he disappeared from my view. A huge grin appeared on my face when I was sure he was gone.
I knew Eric wouldn't bother me in the future. Why would he, when a clingy former virgin was starting to fall for him, because they had shared a "special moment" together. Or at least, that was what he believed.
I had gotten myself of his radar, by telling a simple lie. I'd actually been binging my favourite series, while eating ice cream, on the night of the party.
I continued walking to the store, with a smile plastered on my face.
But my grin faded away as soon as I thought of the man, who had called me earlier that day. A part of me wanted to go to the coffee shop , but I wasn't sure.
