Hank Taylor had served fifteen years as an MP in the US National Guard, the last five years of which had been as a sergeant with the 43rd Military Police Brigade out of Warwick Long Island. The majority of his service had been spent stationed in the US initially performing the typical duties of an MP but later specialising in the investigation of misappropriation of assets. The army moved thousands of tons of materials and equipment every month, some of which went missing. Anything from baked beans to assault rifles could find their way onto the black market and it was Hank's role to identify the culprits when it did.

Hank was equally at home behind a desk following a paper trail or on the streets, locating suspects and chasing down leads. He was not, he discovered, at home in an active combat zone. When, as part of the 43rd's mobilization to Iraq in 2005, he found himself stationed during the build up to war. Hank realised it was the beginning of the end for his military career and by 2007 he had left the and set himself up as a private investigator operating out of Jersey City.

He had built himself a strong client base mainly of legal firms that required detailed reports that would stand up in court. If his service as an MP had taught him anything it was how to write a good investigation report.

The first part of Hank's report described the location, evidently different from what was visible on the internet images.

Monday 7th July :

08:25 :

Arrived at stated GPS co-ordinates  N 51 52.619  E 000 59.612   approx. 3 miles south east of Colchester hereafter referred to as target site 1. Location itself is set back from road by approximately 200yards accessed across an open field but security gates restrict access. Gate appeared to be a simple structure but on closer examination was found to be motorised and of high grade construction.

Investigator’s Note: Discrepancy noted between the locations image on internet (street view) compared to actual appearance where the gateway and drive do not appear.  Possible error on internet data, have taken photos at site to compare (attachment 105A and 105B). Have compared photos taken today to street view on images, gate is not present but other landmarks (post box, telephone box and road signs) do match.

He had obviously then spent the whole day near the site patiently observing.

09:03: A person, described as: male/white, age 25-30, 5’7″, 170 lbs., slim build, medium complexion, short dark hair, wearing a blue baseball cap, white T-shirt, name unknown, and hereafter referred to as subject 1. (ref attached photographs 106A,106B,106C), exited the site via the access gate driving dark blue Ford Focus registration KV99 4FG and headed north west towards Colchester.

10:18 : A person, described as: female/white, age 35-40, 5’3″, 120 lbs., slim build, medium complexion, long dark hair, wearing red blouse, name unknown, and hereafter referred to as the subject 2(ref attached photographs 107A,107B,107C), exited the site via the access gate driving black Lexus IS 250C registration AT99 4JG and headed north west towards Colchester.

13:00 :Subject 2 followed by Subject 1 return in same vehicles and re-enter site, both approach from north east (Colchester).

23:00 : Manual surveillance ended after no further activity. Remote surveillance camera deployed.

Watching a location such as this in the past would have normally taken several investigators working shifts around the clock. Hank however had the advantage of a collection of small remote cameras that he could hide in suitable locations. Activated by movement they would record any activity while he was away.
