A BaekYeon Story

4 - Where It Starts

August 18th, 2012

"All artists please prepare for the ending stage!"

Taeyeon keeps checking her reflection on the mirror to make sure that she looked fine. After done putting her hair into two side ties, she picks up her in-ear microphone and headed outside of the waiting room.

"Unnie, let's go," Taeyeon had her arms linked by Yoona and then Tiffany on her right.

"Where are the others?"

"They went already," said Tiffany as she took out the candy she brought from her jeans pocket.

"Unnie give me one,"

"Nooo," Yoona missed the chance to snatch the candy on Tiffany's hand while the latter immediately throw it into her mouth and smile victoriously.

"Aish... Too bad I—uh? Oh that's EXO right? They look cute being all flustered like that,"

Their eyes turn to the bunch of boys gathering around the entrance to the hall of the stadium. When they realized that some are approaching them, they immediately stick their bodies to the side and keeps bowing.

The girls and all the EXO members exchanged some greetings and with the signal from the staff, they entered the stage together.

Today's ending is special because some audiences and fans, especially from some other countries were invited to join the stage together with the rest of the artists. It was a bit exhausting but Taeyeon kinda enjoyed the interaction she had with some fans.

It was nearing the end of the song thus she had to go back to the center stage to do the final bow alongside the other artists. She was about to turn back when she saw a familiar looking guy walking slowly while waving not far from her.

Isn't he a member of EXO?

She smiled when she saw the awkward face he made when he had no one to walk with. That's because the amount of people on stage has doubled and all artists are really separated. It's even hard to stay with your members together. She decided to approach him slowly from his side and he immediately realized her presence.

"Oh? Annyeonghaseyo, sunbaenim," he bowed down and flashing her his thousand watt smile. Taeyeon greeted him back and pat his shoulder lightly to make him ease.

But that's electrifying for Baekhyun's whole body. He is tensed for a mere second before he regains his composure. He still could not believe he is walking side by side with his idol, not only that but getting his back patted as well. Today is sure magical for him.

"It is so crowded isn't it?" he heard her voice talking to him. He turned his face to look at her and saw her smiling. But suddenly she put her hand on his shoulder, as if she wanted to whisper him something so he tilted his head.

"Don't be nervous, okay?" that's what she said. No other response that Baekhyun could think about rather than laughing it off, and she followed. He is in glee to know that she could sense how tensed he was.

He was still in his deep thought although he is all smile on the outside when she heard her yelling "fast fast fast". It was almost the time for the final bow and without he even realized, she grabbed his hand.

Baekhyun stared on the hand that she held. Is this real?

And they did the final greetings. He felt like he is zoning out in that very moment. Taeyeon, on the other hand, found Baekhyun's expression extremely cute when she grabbed his hand. Of course she noticed that. But she shrug it off, though it is still cute for her.

They clapped together after they did the final bow and got separated when they are going back to the main stage. Somehow she kinda feel disappointed since she felt that Baekhyun could be a good hoobae she would love to talk to through out the ending because she also has no one to walk with.

She finally reached the main stage and is joined by Sooyoung next to her. She is too focused on waving to the fans to not realize that Baekhyun has successfully spotted her place, and even is now standing beside her.

They bumped their shoulder accidentally and that send chills to Taeyeon's body, so she snapped her head quickly to his side and found that adorable smiling face she had ever witnessed. For a while, she could feel blush on her face.

Calm down, Taeyeon. What the hell is wrong with you?

She heard his singing voice, following the music that is played.

"Want to sing?" Taeyeon desperately tried to make her self cool by asking that when deep down she is actually flipped.

"Ahh," Baekhyun is again flustered with the sudden conversation she started. Why is he this easily baffled? "No, sunbaenim, hehehe,"

WHAT WAS THAT BYUN BAEKHYUN??? He felt like smashing his head against the wall. Thankfully, Taeyeon just laughed it off.

"YA BYUN BAEKHYUN LET'S GO," he could hear his bestfriend Chanyeol calling his name. It's time to leave already for the EXO members.

"Uhh, sunbae,"

Taeyeon turned her head and saw Baekhyun gesturing her that he had to go.

"Ah right right, bye," she lightly said. She could not say any other word since Sooyoung already pulled her by her shirt.

"Taeyeon nuna, I see," Chanyeol playfully teased him while he eyes his sunbae that he just mentioned. Oh? She is looking here?

"Piss off, Chanyeol," Baekhyun knows his face is blushing right now so he immediately walked passed Chanyeol.

Taeyeon can only see Baekhyun's back walking to the distance and turned her head immediately to focus on the audience again.

'Till we meet again, her minds echoing.
