Her grandma looked at her in terror and concern. Her grandpa brushed it off, "Ahhhh you really believe that boy? He's probably just trying to scare you so you stay over there. Well he's gotta wait!" He sits back in the rocking chair and looks out the window. She asked "can I uh sleep on the couch tonigh?" Her grandpa shakes his head in disappointment and goes back to his room while her grandma nodded. She turned around to see if he was back in his room then looked back at Natalie. "Listen, I heard some noises around here. I don't know for sure if it's what you say it is, but I think you should stay with Jayden" Her grandma said. "It's uh Jason but what about you and papa?!" She corrects her but then get concerned. She looks in Natalie's eyes "We don't have much time left anyways, you still have your whole life" Natalie let's the tears that's been threatening her eye slide down her cheek and hugs her tight as she felt her tear on her shoulder. She lets go and says "It's ok. I want to spend so,e time with you" Her grandma looked at her then out spree window. "Well it's dark right now" She said. "How about we bake? All we can eat!" Her grandma chuckles and starts to stand then walk to the kitchen. Natalie follows and goes in the cabinets towards the floor and finds her grandmas old cook book. It was passed from generation to generation so when you take it out you have to be careful it doesn't fall apart. It was all hand written with plent of blank pages to add more to it. She sets it on the counter npand flips through it skimming through the cursive writing under the flower and everything else engraved into the pages. She finds a recipe her great grandmother must have made, "Grandmas girl" she called it. Natalie decided to do that one and read the ingredients. It seem like snicker doodles. She asked her grandma if they could do that and her grand said sure. They start baking batch after batch until they realized they had at least 14 dozens of cookies. When they were done with a batch they dumped it on to a towel that her grandma put on the washer which was in a closet attached to the kitchen. When Natalie dumped their 14th batch of cookies she laughed and told her grandma to look. They both laughed and her grandma said "Well there's a batch in the oven plus more dough" Natalie smiles and they continue baking until there were now 22 dozens. They laughed not knowing what they would do with them. Natalie puts some in a giant zip lock back then fills up more bags until all the cookies are sealed. She stored them on the top shelf of the pantry the sat with her grandma in the living room. They watched Christmas movies on the hallmark channel because that was her grandmas favorite. Her grandma fell asleep so Natalie shut off the tv and laid on the couch. She started drifting off until she heard a giant thud on the porch. She curled under the blankets thinking they would actually protect her. Her whole life flashed before her eyes when her phone went off startling her. She went under the blanket and turned down her brightness to see Jason had texted her. "Sorry I think I scared you haha. It's not really a surprise now but I got you something I'm outside❤️" Natalie flew from under the blankets and quickly but quietly opened the door. Jason was standing at the door with a box. He smiled and handed it to her as she let him in. There was a indoor porch attached to the actually house so her and Jason sat out there sitting crisis cross as Jason sat with his knees bent a little almost tucking them. Natalie opened the box when a puppy jumped out. She laughed and leaned over to kiss Jason thanking him. He assured her it was no problem as he kissed her again. They played with the puppy then Natalie asked "Wait what was the thud on the porch?! DID YOU DROP THE PUPPYYYY?!" She yelled in a whisper. "No HAHA I stomped on the step just trying to wake you up but I scared you" Natalie let out a sigh of relief then laughed hugging Jason. She pulled her legs and wrapped them around his body as they sat on the floor with her in his lap. Natalie stood up after kissing him and said "I'm gonna see if I can go to your house tonight" Jason smiled as he stood up. And grabbed her by her waist and put his head on hers with their eyes just inches apart. Their noses almost touching. Jason smiled "See you there"
