OK HERES CHAPTER 5!! XX
Mum wasn’t too happy with the news. She clearly thought Luke was a one night stand that had no intension whatsoever of being involved and quite frankly didn’t even need to know. And so did I. but now he did and he was making out to Paris that he was going to be the world’s most wonderful father and what does Paris do? Ah the clever girl believes him.
Mum and I however had our heads screwed on straight and were trying like mad to persuade Paris to make him stay away. She wasn’t having any of it.
“He’s the father! He has every right to be involved!”
“Oh Paris come on, do you really think he’ll be there? When the babies here and needs a bed and clothes and all the rest of it. Do you honestly think he’ll chip in?” Mum had been trying to drill this into her brain. But you can’t drill into cotton wool can you?
“Mum. I trust him. If he says he’ll be there then he’ll be there.” Paris left the kitchen to see Luke who was only in the lounge and probably heard everything we’d said.
“No, no, no! You don’t have to go!” We heard Paris say her voice going slightly high. The kitchen door was now shut. Mum and I pressed our ears against the door and couldn’t help but giggle slightly. Mum mimed zipping her lips to me and I did exactly what I was told.
“I think I do, Paris.” His voice was a hell of a lot deeper than hers.
“Why? Oh come on Luke don’t let my Mum put you off! She’s going to have to get used to the idea at some stage, so why not start now?”
Mum snorted slightly at that point but thankfully Paris didn’t hear.
“Look Paris. I really want to come with you to the scan on Wednesday and I will, I promise. It’s just your Mum knows that I’m not going to be a stay at home, be there all the time Dad. And you need to know that too. You know I want to be a musician so I really need to focus on that. When you have scans and stuff to go to, I’ll be there. When the baby’s being born, I’ll be there. When you need a bit of cash for clothes and whatever, I’ll be there. But I can’t be with you and them all day every day. I’m a nineteen year old guy. I wasn’t planning on having a kid for another five years or whatever but if you’re that keen on having this baby then I’m here for you, just not all the time ok?”
Mum and I took a step back from the door. We both then realised he was a lot better than we took him for. He seemed, ok well better than he did we found out he was responsible for making Paris up the duff or whatever people call it.
We didn’t hear the rest of their conversation because we left them to have it in privacy without our ears being involved. He was here for another five minutes or so before he left and we heard his motor bike pull away.
Mum and I looked at each other then decided to check on her and went into the lounge. Paris was sat on the sofa fiddling with the battery clasp thing on the remote. Mum went and sat beside her and soon enough they were hugging.
“He’s a good one Paris don’t push him away.” Mum mumbled into her hair. I looked at Paris’ face, she had a small smile forming on her lips.
OK THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE SHORTEST CHAPTER SO FAR BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS LONG ENOUGH. ANY OPINIONS ON LUKE?? X :)
