4 | the key

~time skip to the end of testing~

i wake up to a hell of a lot of pain. i must've passed out from the pain at one point, i don't know when. i look around and see jackson at a computer typing something in.

"ah, skye, you're awake, how do you feel?" jackson asks smiling smugly.

i resist the urge to spit at him "like shit, no thanks to you" i mutter and he writes something down in his notes.

jackson frees me of the restraints holding me down and i sit up scowling. i see his keycard hanging off his jacket and i remember my idea.

he turns around and i wait. he turns around to take my blood pressure again and turns back to the computer. a second goes by and i slowly reach out and unclip the keycard from his pocket. i hide it under my leg and smile in success.

"your blood pressure is a little high, but it'll go down in time. you can get changed again." jackson says walking out. i hop off the table and change into my clothes sitting on the chair in the corner. i tuck the keycard into the pocket in my jacket and check the time. 6pm. i can go home.

i smile and run out of the lab. i see a bunch of people head down to the dining hall and i head towards it. after not eating all day and having a ton of test done, i'm starving.

i get to the hall and see bellamy already eating "you started without me?" i joke and he grins "saved you a spot" he offers and i grin grabbing a plate "appreciated" he grins through a mouthful of food and i go load up my plate.

after filling my plate with pasta, salad and garlic bread i head back to the table. "hungry?" bellamy asks amused and i shove his shoulder playfully "i had radiation testing and i haven't eaten all day leave me alone" we laugh and i dig in.

"so, what happened today?" he asks and i sigh "double dose" i mutter and he looks at me shocked "seriously?" i nod sadly, losing my appetite as the pain comes back to me. i push my plate away from me "i don't know if i can keep doing this.."

bellamy takes my hand in his "you won't have to, i'll get you out of there" i smile sadly at him "thanks big brother" he smiles "thank me when you're out" he ruffles my hair and pushes my plate back at me "eat, you need it" i smile and take a bite out of the garlic bread.

"oh, and i did a thing but i'll need to show you back at home what it is" i whisper and bellamy raises an eyebrow at me. "that's incredibly sketchy you know that right" he says and i laugh "fully aware."

we finish our food and head back home with octavia's food hidden in a bag under bellamy's jacket. we walk in and close the door behind us. "O where you at?" i ask and octavia walks over "please tell me you have dinner i'm starving" bellamy grins and puts the bag on the table "pasta, garlic bread, salad, the works" she grins and starts eating.

"so what'd you do?" bellamy asks and octavia holds up her fork "hold up, i don't even know what happened with the testing, fill me in." i laugh and tell her everything.

"they can't do that" she says after hearing about the double dosage "that could kill you, you could've been killed."

i sigh "they're fully aware, i'm disposable apparently."

i see bellamy's jaw tighten and i quickly change the subject and hold up the key card.

"is that?" octavia asks and i grin "yup, eric jackson's key card." octavia and bellamy laugh "oh you really can pull some stupid stunts" bellamy sighs laughing and i grin and shrug "hey, we have full access to the entire ark, where to?"

octavia's face falls and she walks away "have fun without me" i see bellamy smile "that's where i show you my surprise."

he holds up two masks and we look at him confused. "there's a masquerade party tonight, you can sneak in with the crowd and then slip away to explore."
