Kuroo, still holding onto my hand, begins to lean in closer to me.
Woah, hey! What's he doing!? I think to myself. Is this a...k-k-kiss!? Wait!! I'm not ready!! I tightly shut my eyes out of sheer nervousness.
I feel Kuroo's warm breath inch closer to my face. I tilt my head up slightly, to reach his lips and...
"Kuroo-kun!!" The two of us jump away from each other and turn to look at my front door.
"How good it is to see you!!" My mom exclaims loudly. "What is it, what's wrong?...Why do you two look like you've just seen a ghost?" She asks curiously.
"Oh, you just opened the door so loudly and so quickly, we were just a little surprised!" I say, trying to hold in my embarrassment.
My mom looks at Kuroo and smiles sweetly. "Kuroo-kun, would you like to come in and sit for awhile? Dinner is almost done~" she asks.
Kuroo quickly bows and says, "thank you, but I really should be getting home soon. Maybe another time, though! Thank you!!"
"Come over whenever you would like. Our door is always open for you~" mom says as she wraps her arms around my shoulders, pulling my into a backwards embrace.
I smile awkwardly at Kuroo and give a small wave. "We'll talk tomorrow, alright? Be careful on your way home." Kuroo nods, and turns on his heel, stepping off of the porch.
Mom and I watch Kuroo walk down the street until he is no longer in our sight, then scurry inside to hide from the cold. She looks me up and down, smiling widely, before asking, "so...what were you two about to do before I opened the door, hm~?"
My face heats up quickly, and I begin to stumble on my words. "N-nothing! I don't know! It looked like he was going to kiss me, b-but...I could've been wrong!!"
Mom giggles. "My little baby is growing up!" She walks over to squish me into a hug. "When did you get so big, huh?"
"Come on, mom~ Let's eat dinner already!" I say as I gently pat her back.
Soon after dinner ends, I walk upstairs to my room. While up there, I turn on some music, and look at this month's schedule on my wall calendar. "Hm, it doesn't look like I'll have too much more time to hang out with Kuroo before school starts. I wonder what else the two of us will get to do before then...I hope that, whatever it is, it's fun." I sigh lightly.
I walk to my bed and sit down. "I just hope he and I will have class together, that might make up for the missed summer dates we probably won't have." I say to myself, sounding disappointed. "Well, it's no use thinking about things like this now. I'll just go to sleep, and I can think about it again tomorrow."

Once again, I wake up to the sound of my iPod receiving a text. It was Kuroo asking what time we should meet up. I grab my iPod, smiling affectionately as I reply to him.
After a few minutes of pointless conversing about the day's plans, I get out of bed and begin getting dressed.
"Hm..what should I wear? Kuroo won't tell me where we're going today, so I don't know how to plan my outfit accordingly.." I say with curiosity in my voice.
Almost perfectly timed with my thoughts, Kuroo texts me back. "Oh, by the way," his message read. "Wear something cute~ (๑>◡W)"
"What the?? Why cute? Just where are we going??" I question myself.
I play along with his request and grab a pretty blue dress out of my closet, along with a light, long sleeve over shirt. I wear sneakers that match the dress, and I make sure to put shorts on underneath, in case we play volleyball again.
"Hey," I text Kuroo. "I'm leaving now. Meet me at the usual spot!" As I walk down the stairs, I notice mom and dad have already gone to work. "Ugh, I'm too lazy to get myself breakfast....I can wait." With that said, I walk out the door, headed for our usual spot.
As I arrive to our usual spot, I see a tall figure dressed in a fancy-casual outfit. White pants, white shirt, a gorgeous red jacket, and red shoes to match. "Woah, you look...kind of nice..!" I exclaim joyfully.
Kuroo turns toward me so that we are standing facing each other. "Well, yeah...I had to look nice for where we're going today..." he replies, smiling sheepishly.
"Oh, yeah," I begin to say. "Where exactly are we going today?" I move closer to him, put my hands on my hips, and give him a jokingly suspicious face.
He takes a step back and looks up toward the buildings around us. "Well, it–it wouldn't be much of a surprise if I told you, right!?" He says while stuttering.
"That's not fair, I wanna know!" I say as I begin to pout.
Kuroo grabs my hand gently and guided me out of the park. "Don't worry, okay? You'll like it, I promise~" he boasts, smirking in an innocent way.
Well, if he's promising that, I'm sure it's nothing bad, right? ....right??
"Ah," Kuroo interrupts the silence. "When we get closer, I'm going to have you close your eyes, though, okay? I just don't want to ruin the surprise too soon." He giggles.
I raise an eyebrow, but I decide to humor him and allow him to have his fun. "I'll let you know when we're close, so you don't need to worry about a thing. And absolutely no peeking allowed!" He says with the biggest grin and the slightest blush on his face.
"Yes, yes, I understand~" I say sarcastically. "But you owe me food today, since I skipped it this morning!" I say as he starts pulling gently on my hand, signaling me to follow behind him.
He looks back at me and smiles. "Of course. Pick what you want, and I'll pay", he coos sweetly. "Anything you want today, I'll get it for you. Just say the word~"
After hearing this, I run up to his side, and grab onto his arm tightly with both of my arms. "Aw, you're being so kind to me today~!" I tease.
"What are you talking about?" He asks, bringing his free hand up to his chest. "I'm always this kind." As he says this, the sunlight just hits him so...gracefully.
