it bothers me
more than i
would have thought
a horror movie
stuck in my head
holding it down
drowning it
it almost got away
more than once
it screamed
and ran
but i'm so much
bigger gigantic
monstrous
it stood no chance
i wasn't angry
just cold blooded
i held it down
in a small hollow
in the dirt
with the end of
my watering wand
and watched
it's tiny pink nose
thrusting
frantic
tiny body
twitching
as it fought
for freedom
and then for air
until it stilled
and then i stood there
dismayed
at what i had done
non revocable
hideous act
aghast
beyond salvation
snuffed out of
life forever
i'm sorry
i'm so sorry
but it would have
eaten
my food my garden
lame excuse
so now i can't
figure out
will i have
dirty kharma
to pay back
or go to hell
for murder
