Greening the Cube [Part 1]

(Y/n)'s POV
   I woke up and yawned. I was about to get up but I felt a pair of arms hug me, and I heard a whine. "Stay in bed." I heard Keith mumble. I rolled my eyes, smiled, and poked his cheek. "Come on babe, we have a job to do." I said. He groaned, pulled me down, and snuggled into my chest.
   "We can spare a few minutes." Keith said. I sighed then we heard Coran, "Attention, the princess recommends that you all suit up, you'll be helping us check on the external area of the ship." Keith groaned and I laughed. "You just had to jinx it." Keith said as he got up.
   I let out an offended hey as he laughed.

    "Let's hurry up with these repairs, Zarkon could be here at any moment." Shiro said as Hunk twisted a handle. A small twisted pillar rose up from the ships surface. "Ok panel's up, now what?" Hunk asked. "Very simple, just loosen the blaxums on the somopflage." Coran said.  "Could you be more specific?" hunk groaned.
    "Sorry Hunk, he means the poklones on the agroclams." Allura said. "No that doesn't help." Hunk muttered. "Easy Hunk, I got this." Lance said. He pushed and moved some random stuff then alarms went off. "Uh oh." Lance mumbled. "No no, not the smalters the poklones!" Allura said. "No it's the blaxums!" Coran said. "You do realize we have no idea what you two are talking about, right?" I muttered.
   Pidge pressed a few buttons and turned a few knobs. "There." Pidge said as the pillar returned to it's blue color. "Well done Pidge." Allura said. "The tech on this ship never ceases to amaze me, it's so mathematically elegant, it's fit as a 100 times more frictionless than any exoskeleton we have on Earth, it's... beautiful." Pidge sighed dreamily.
   "It's not a sunset Pidge." Lance said. "You're right, a billion sunsets happen everyday, some genius engineer actually built this." Pidge responded. "It looks like a huge curly fry." Hunk said, then he was hit in the head with some blue substance. I looked around, there were a lot of them surrounding us, they looked like snowballs.
  "Ok, we're prepared for this," Shiro activated his shield, "Remember your rouge projectile cluster training back in the garrison, first we need a temporary shelter, wha-?" Shiro was hit in the head with one of the snowballs. Shiro looked betrayed as Lance spoke up, "Oh sorry Shiro, I was trying to hit Keith." Then Lance was hit in the head with one too.
  "Heh like that?" Keith said. I grinned and grabbed one, then I threw it at Keith. He wiped off the snowball thing off his helmet and sent me a look of betrayal. "Yeah,something like that." I said with a grin. "Haha yes, Squishy asteroid ball fight!" Hunk cried out. We were all throwing the balls at each other and laughing. Shiro tried getting us back on track but he ended up joining us.
   "I don't think these are asteroids." Pidge said. "Obviously, asteroids couldn't be as soft as these," I said then I got hit, "Wha- Keith, oh you are going down." Lance and I threw a asteroid at him at the same time. "Mclain twins are invincable!" Lance shouted as he was hit by an asteroid. "Coran, I'm gonna need a containment unit." Pidge said as she grabbed one of the snowballs.
  "Just a tick." Coran responded. "They appear to be some sort of hyper resilient spore." Allura said. "This bioluminescent pulsing doesn't seem natural, it appears to be programmed, I think it's a code." Pidge said. "A code, from who?" Hunk asked, then he got hit. "I don't know, I mean it makes no sense, you can't program a spore" Pidge said while staring at the spore.
  "Well if anyone can figure it out, it's you Pidge." Shiro said as he got hit by my spore. I laughed as he looked at me in betrayal too. "Before that everyone needs to come in for decontamination." Allura said. I felt someone grab my hand, I looked to my side and saw Keef. I grinned as I stuck a spore on his helmet. Keef rubbed it off and playfully flicked my helmet. "I don't think a lion goddess is supposed to act like that." He teased.
  "Ugh, shut up mullet." I said back as I followed everyone out.

  We were in this huge white room, Keith had his arms crossed as usual. Water started to spray us. Next, soap was sprayed and more water. Then the room was filled with water, I smiled and floated in the water. After the water drained we were being dried.
  I held onto Keith keeping my balance. I watched pidge fly off due to the wind and grimaced.

  I sat next to Pidge staring at the spore that was floating around in the machine. "Oh I've seen this experiment, but quick question, why do we need electricity from a potato?" Hunk asked. "What, no no, I was able to crack the spore code," Pidge said typing on her laptop, "I ran a bioluminescent pattern through a variety of code breaking sequences, including this homemade virtual Turing machine, of course I had to make a few tweaks to the original design because obviously there have been several advancements since he designed it, although you have to admit-"
  I put a hand on her shoulder, "Uh Pidge, you're rambling again." "Just tell us what it says!" Keith said. "Right.... Under attack.... Galra... Help." Pidge reads out. "So it's a distress signal?" I suggest. "Good work Pidge, get those coordinates to the castle's navigation system." Shiro said.
  Looks like we got another mission, hopefully I'll be useful on this one.

(A/n): OKAY THIS ONE IS SHORTER BECAUSE I FELT BAD THAT I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN LIKE 2 YEARS SO I JUST ADDED A FEW MORE PARAGRAPHS SO HOPEFULLY NEXT CHAPTER YOU'LL BE AT THE PLANET. I haven't updated because once again I was working on my mental and physical health and I think I'm getting better! Anyways I'll try to update soon, until next time!
