Percy's POV
We entered the dark dungeon, which soon lit up with torches all around the place. To be honest, it was pretty scary.
The place was massive, enough to fit about 300 players easily, and a lot of space to work with, too. That's the good news.
The bad news is, that the boss is probably huge, too. And that will most likely be a big problem.
Kirito, Jason, Nico, and I prepared ourselves along with the Vanguard, ready to receive a blow at any which given time. The situation was, we couldn't see the boss, and that was worrying.
We could hear the footsteps of the rest of the groups lining up, ready for the fight. Kirito looked back at Annabeth, as if asking what to do since we were unable to see the boss. She looked conflicted, until her eyes were alarmed and she looked directly at the ceiling.
We all followed suit, until everyone was looking at the six-armed metallic budha type thing, who was standing on a platform from which it eventually dropped from.
The statue's health started going up, until 3 full bars were floating next to the head.
Jason and I looked at each other, mentally counting down until we started attacking.
Kirito looked at us, and nodded.
"VANGUARD! ATTACK!" Kirito yelled, waking up those who weren't focused.
We all pulled out our weapons and charged, while we saw arrows fly by us and hit the boss straight on.
Dam, this is going to be hard.
-----
The boss was on the last half of his 3rd bar, and everyone started fighting with renewed energy, hoping to get the last hit in so they could get the item.
I was getting low on health, so I decided to drop back a bit to regen with some potions. But that was a bad idea it seems.
A really bad idea.
I looked into my inventory, late to realize the boss had aggro in me and was about to crush me into pieces with his metal hands.
I was dead.
It took me a moment to gather, that I was indeed about to die, due to my own stupidity. What a failure I am.
Everything was in slow motion.
I looked at Jason, who was yelling at me with his eyes wide open.
Nico was what seemed to be in shock, unable to move.
I smiled.
'I hope you live through this game' I thought, as I closed my eyes.
I was suddenly pushed, hard, and landed 6 feet away from where I was standing.
I looked back, alarmed, and saw Bianca's face shortly, smiling as she said
"Take care of Nico for me"
The hand crushed her, and the bright blue and pink particles started forming around her body, until there was nothing at all.
I could feel myself start to cry, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
"WHY! WHY DID YOU DO THAT! HOW COULD YOU JUST JUMP IN LIKE THAT! YOU HAD NO RIGHT!" I screamed at the place where Bianca had disappeared.
My body was shaking. I couldn't deal with it.
She didn't deserve to die, so why did she?
Just how unfair is this stupid life?
I looked over at the boss, who was being heavily attacked by Kirito, who seemed to be boiling with anger.
The boss proceeded to disintegrate, just like Bianca had, and the item pop-up appeared in front of Kirito.
I looked back at Jason, who had a horrified expression on his face.
I couldn't deal with everything that was going on, so my mind did the next best thing.
I passed out.
Line Break
I awoke with a jump.
I scouted my surroundings, realizing I was bedridden in my room. Jason was sleeping soundly on the chair in the corner of the room, and I could hear yelling from downstairs.
I took the blanket I was wrapped in and folded it, leaving it on the bed as I started heading out the room.
I approached the stairs, started descending to the living room.
"Its his fault she's dead!"
"You know its not!"
"Yes it is! If only he didn't retreat to heal, the boss would of never crushed my sister dead!"
"Nico come on! Don't be like this! You know Bianca would never want you to think like this!"
"You don't know anything about her, or us, so leave me be Kirito!"
"Nico! You've got to understand-"
Kirito stopped when he realized I was there.
Nico looked back at me, an angry expression on his face.
"It's true Kirito, everything he's saying is true. It's my fault. Bianca would be here if it wasn't for me. All I ever did was screw up. She didn't deserve it."
I looked down.
Its always my fault. I don't know what to do.
"You're right. It is your fault. Everything is your fault. You always screw up! If you hadn't found me, my life wouldn't be screwed over! Bianca wouldn't be dead! So yeah, its your fault! And I HATE YOU FOR THAT!"
Nico left the house and slammed the door as he left. 5 seconds later his health bar disappeared from the top left-hand corner, meaning he had left the guild.
I stood there, unable to do anything.
Right. Sorry about that. See you later.
