TONI'S POV

«What did you say her name was?»
I could hear the nurse asking me over and over again what Cheryl's name was , but I could barely breathe, let alone speak.
«Ch-Che-Cheryl B-Blossom»
I said as shakily
«So um, miss Cheryl Blossom huh»
The nurse had a strong accent , I could tell she was from New York. She was chewing gum with her mouth open and showed zero sympathy nor interest for what was happening.
«Yes, miss Cheryl Blossom, now can you please tell me what room she's in? Please.»
I said , practically begging her to lead me to Cheryl
«I'm sorry miss um,Topaz, but only members of her family are allowed in, and to my knowing, Blossom and Topaz don't exactly collide ,do they?»
She turned around and proceeded to chew her gum as loudly as possible. I swear I even heard her laugh under her breath as walked away.
I couldn't just stay like this, I was practically blind sighted. I didn't know where Cheryl was and it had almost been three hours now since I had dropped her off at the front desk, screening as loud as I could for help. Nurses had come rushing in and taken her without saying a word. I tried following her but security wouldn't let me. Said I had to register and sign into the hospital first. My whole mind was scrambled. I had no one to call and I didn't know what to do. I didn't know much about Cheryl's family apart from the fact that they're pretty much famous in Riverdale for maple syrup. Fucking maple syrup. I could maybe try to look up her parents' numbers but that would take too long.
Of course! Veronica! Her and Cheryl are practically best friends so veronica would no doubt give me Cheryl's mom's number.
I quickly dialed Veronica's number and let the phone ring.
One, two, three
-Hello?
I could hear Veronica's voice through the phone and I almost felt tears falling down my cheek from how happy and relieved I was
-oh my god Veronica thank go you answered. Cheryl got hurt real bad on her arm and I took her to the hospital. They took her but they won't let me go see her. They said only family is allowed. Can you please give me her mom's number, or even her dad's, I don't care just someone.
I could feel tears streaming down my face as I sat down
-oh um, how did this happen? Is she okay? I can come if you want.
I heard her voice getting high pitched and for a moment, I even heard a whimper coming through her mouth
-No no I wouldn't want to cause more commotion, but if you have me her mom's number that would be a huge help.
-oh , yes , of course , so it's...
She then proceeded to give me Cheryl's mom's number and asked me to update her as soon as possible.
Veronica really did have a heart of gold.
I called Cheryl's mom like 5 times until she finally picked up
-What?
She had the most arrogant voice and she seemed pretty annoyed
-Miss Blossom! What a relief! I thought you were never going to pick up. Miss Blossom , Cheryl's at the hospital , her arm is wounded and she's getting stitches as we speak. I'll explain what happened when you get to the hospital and I'm so sorry this happened, I'm-
She cut me off before I could even finish my sentence
-Oh , has she now...well text me the hospital address, I'll be down there in a second.
She hang up straight away.
She seemed awfully calm for a mother that had just learned that her daughter was in the hospital, but I guess that's good, she must not worry much .
I texted her the address and surely enough , she was at the hospital a couple minutes later. I saw her walking through the doors. I was sure it was her. She had bright red hair just like Cheryl and a stern look on her face
«Oh miss Blossom , it's me Toni Topaz! I'm the one who called you on the phone , do-
-I don't know and I don't care missy , now where is the staff , i want to see my daughter ASAP!
I was shocked but I guess she was just really worried. Even though she looked more mad than anything.
She quickly found her way to a nurse and left, hopefully to Cheryl's room.
It was weird though, something felt off.

CHERYL'S POV

Jesus Christ was I in fucking pain.
I didn't know where I was or how I had gotten here but everything was plain and white. I was in a room and I had woken up about an hour ago. Some nurses had brought me water but I mean , I was starving . My whole upper right arm was throbbing with pain and I didn't dare move it. The last thing I could remember was being with Toni in my car , and then blank. I was wondering where Toni was anyway. She couldn't have left me , right? I mean she wouldn't do that , or would she? She probably doesn't even like me so why was I even flustered about this. Case closed. I don't like her , she doesn't like me. Some people are just not mean to be friends. Even though I might like her just a tiny bit , it's nothing to get worried about. Or maybe it is? I don't even-
My thoughts were cut off when the door slowly opened. I could see the nurse and my. Oh no. Oh no no no this can't be happening. Not now. My mom. My fucking mom. The devil's cousin to be more clear. My mom was going to kill me. What was she doing here? Who called her?
«Mis Blossom? You're mom is here to see you, I'll leave you 2 to it»
The nurse said as she threw a warm smile and walked off , leaving only my mother and I.
My mother waited a couple minutes as she looked me up and down and said
«you look dreadful»
I blinked once and said
«mother , I'm in a hospital bed, how did you expect me to look»
«you did this on purpose»
I couldn't believe what she had just said. Me ? Hurting myself on purpose? I mean heck , I cant even recall what happened to me so how was I even supposed to do it on purpose?
«mother , not this again. I AM NOT GOING THROUGH YOUR DELUSIONS AGAIN. MY RIGHT ARM IS IN PAIN AND I CAN BARELY MOVE IT, NOW TELL ME WHY THE FUCK WOULD I DO THIS ON PURPOSE?»
Warm tears were flowing down my cheeks onto my hospital robe as hair fell onto my face
She was slowly moving closer to me
«Cheryl...
She started and moved even closer
-Since when did you start to speak like this to you mother
She moved even closer
«I-I-I'm my one person mother , you cant just-
She was now inches away from me
«So Toni Topaz...since when are you two friends? Did you know she was a serpent?
I could barely breathe at this point
«how do you know toni, leave-leave her a-alone»
«well dear, she's the one who called me here. Poor thing was worried sick about the fact that she couldn't come and see you»
I felt a warm and comforting feeling in my heart as I thought about the fact that she wanted to check up on me
Then, I couldn't breathe.
I felt cold, hands around my throat, tightening every second.
«This is your last chance Cheryl. Either you stop playing around and making me pay money for your stupid hospital bills or next time , i will squeeze tighter.»
She let go suddenly and barged out of the room. Leaving me in a choking mess and gasping for air.
A couple secondes later I could hear the door open again
«Mother please, please don't do it again, I'm sorry I promise I won't-
-shhh baby , breathe , breathe, take deep breaths
I turned around and got a glimpse of caramel skin coming closer to me
«Cheryl what happened , did your mother do this?»
I could hear her worried tone in her voice , but she till seemed so calm and reassuring. I could feel her placing her hand on my back and rubbing it , as she layers down next to me, my breaths were getting calmer and steadier , and I could feel my eyelids dropping.
I was on the verge of falling asleep on Toni when I heard
«MISS TOPAZ WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THIS ROOM?»
I felt Toni jerk, probably because of how surprised she was.
Shit.
