Chapter 2

Perrie's p.o.v

Today a family was coming to work in the castle. I felt bad. Their 9 year old girl even has to work. I heard that their dad was hurt and that they have a girl my age. I was going to try and get her to be my servant so she doesn't have a worse time than it could be. Then again I want to befriend her. I saw the list of chores she is going to have to do and it is a lot. I stood beside my dad as the gates opened. They walked inside with 3 small suitcases and what I think is their dad in a wheelchair. They were taken to a room and told what they need to do. I went to my room. She walked in and looked a bit mad. She started cleaning up the mess I made.

Perrie: Hey! My name is Perrie. You will refer to me as your highness.

Jade: Ok um your highness.

Perrie: I'm joking with you! You can just call me Perrie! What is your name?

Jade: I'm Jade. Now I need to get back to cleaning.

Perrie: Listen I know you hate it here. I mean so do I. I was born into this mess. If it was up to me I would be out of here living a normal life.

Jade: Why do you hate it here?

Perrie: Everything is a mess. I can't go anywhere alone. My mom wants to marry me off to some guy I don't like so that when I am next on the throne I have someone to rule with me. When I am queen things will be a lot different around here.

Jade: What is wrong with the guy your mom is setting you up with?

Perrie: He is a nice guy but I'm Lesbian.

Jade: Cool! I've never heard of a princess who likes girls.

Perrie: Yeah! Anyway I want to be your friend!

Jade: Oh ok.

Perrie: So tell me about your family!

Jade: My mom and I use to work at a bakery in the poor side of town. On top of that I take care of my sister Emma and my dad. My dad um used to be a construction worker. One day he fell from a building and hurt his back. He couldn't work because of the pain. Shortly after he started throwing up blood. We are not sure how much time he has left.

Perrie: Oh.

Jade: Anyway I have to sweep.

I grabbed the broom and Perrie moved behind me. All of a sudden people came rushing into the room and grabbed me.

Perrie: What are you guys doing?

Guard: She was just about to hit you with the broom!

Perrie: No she wasn't I was just moving from behind her! Let her go and never touch her again!

Guard: Sorry.

Perrie: Sorry Jade. They don't know how to leave me alone.

Jade: It's ok.

Perrie: Hey my friend are face timing me let me introduce you to them.

Jade: I actually have to go and help cook lunch.

Perrie: Aww ok.

I was about to leave the room and a dog ran in. Perrie picked her up and held it.

Perrie: This is Hatchi! Hatchi say hi!

Jade: I'll see you at lunch!

Perrie: Bye!

I walked down the long hall getting lost. I asked someone and they showed me the way to the kitchen. I put my hair up and put on an apron. I am cooking for the Kingdom of South Shields. My mom was in the kitchen peeling potatoes. I grabbed a peeler and stood beside her.
