Gwen's POV

"The stars are so beautiful tonight, aren't they?" Connor said and I rolled my eyes at his pathetic attempt to make me laugh.

You see, we were both in my room again, laying side-by-side on my bed with our fingers intertwined.

When I first bought this apartment about two years ago, some little kid and her parents must have lived in it before my sisters and I did because on the ceiling of one of the rooms — which happened to be my room — had little glow-in-the-dark stars stuck on the ceiling and I didn't see the need to remove them.

"You're such an idiot, Con," I replied and he raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, so now you have a nickname for me."

A blush rose to my cheeks and I thanked my lucky stars that the lights were off.

I have no idea why I called him that. It took me several weeks to get used to calling Braiden 'Brai', but calling Connor 'Con' seemed so natural. And, as cheesy as it sounds, It was almost like I was always meant to call him that.

"Why? do you want a nickname?" I asked.

"Only if I can give you one."

"Well, that's gonna be pretty hard," I said. You can't really make the name Gwen any shorter than it already is. It's literally only one syllable, what could you possibly do with it?

"Can I call you girlfriend?" he asked and I nearly choked on the air that I had just inhaled.

Is he being serious?

When Braiden asked me to be his girlfriend he made a really big deal about it. Gifts. Flowers. An expensive looking necklace, which I had given back to him the day we broke up. While Connor just asked me to be his girlfriend in my dark bedroom as we watched the glow in the dark stars slowly dim out.

"Do you want to call me girlfriend or do you want me to be your girlfriend?"

"Both. I want it more than you'll ever know."

"Fine you can call me girlfriend, but only if I can call you boyfriend," I said and he pressed his lips to my temple.

"It's a deal," he whispered in my ear and it immediately brought chills down my spine.

It was silent for a very long time after that and I was sure that Connor was already fast asleep, but apparently he wasn't.

"So, girlfriend, do you want to go to the park and just walk around, because I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight," he said and I nodded, although he probably couldn't really see me clearly due to the darkness, but I'm pretty sure he knows that I said yes.

We didn't bother changing since we were still in the clothes from earlier tonight.

As we passed by Tanya and Avery's room I could hear faint voices. Actually, I could hear a faint voice.

"Connor, I'll just check on my sisters," I said and he nodded as he let go of my hand.

I turned the doorknob to the room they shared and the first thing I saw was Avery dangling from the top bunk, her ponytail swinging back and forth, while Tanya just looked agitated and tired.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Nothing... It's just that you have a boyfriend now."

"And what makes you think that?"

"I heard your conversation with that Connor guy a couple of minutes ago," she said, looking very proud of herself.

I was about to ask her how she heard our conversation, but I didn't get the chance.

"Why are you surprised? The walls in this place are paper thin," she said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world as I rolled my eyes.

"Gwen! The sun is gonna rise in a couple of hours and I prefer the darkness," Connor said from the doorway.

Avery muttered a have fun before turning me around and pushing me out of the room.

Once again Connor intertwined his fingers with mine and we started making our way to the stairs. We weren't in the mood for the elevator.

Once we finally got to the park I asked him a question which I've been dying to know the answer to.

"How many past girlfriends have you had?" I asked and he raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you asking?"

"I just want to know. I'm curious."

"I've only had one," he replied.

I wasn't expecting him to have just had one. I was expecting about four or five. He was fairly attractive, so I just thought his love life would've been a bit more successful.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"I'd rather not, thank you," he replied and I nodded.

"How about you? How many past boyfriends have you had?"

"Three. I've had three boyfriends in the past, including Braiden."

Once again, he tensed up when I said Braiden's name. I understand that he's probably jealous or something, but, if we wanted this thing to work, they would have to get along since 20% of my time is spent with Braiden.

"Why don't you like him?" I asked.

"I just don't, okay? I'm not a people person, but if you want me to try and be nice I will gladly do it for you," he replied and pressed his lips to the back of my hand.

"I would really appreciate that."

"Great, I'll start tomorrow."

We ended up laying down on the slightly damp grass and watched as the sky changed colors once dawn came around.

"Don't we have an appointment with Dr. Emerson today? She said she wanted to check up on us," I said and he put a hand to his forehead.

"I would say we're doing pretty good."

"Yeah. But it's not like we can miss our appointment," I said and he covered his eyes with his hand.

"What time do we have to be there?."

"We have to be there by 8 am, so we have two hours," I said as I started getting up.

"We still have a lot of time. Can't we just stay here, please."

Remember when I said I hated wasting time? Well if wasting time meant I could do it with Connor, then I wouldn't mind at all.

I lay down beside him once again, my head resting on his chest.

"Yes," I sighed happily. "We can stay."
