a/n: okay, just a warning for you all. shiz is about to get real in the following chapters and sadly there are only a few left.

Gwen's POV

As soon as I arrived back at my apartment, I slammed the door to my apartment shut and kicked off my shoes angrily.

Luck hadn't really been on my side that day and Connor wasn't there to help me with everything I had been through over the last few hours, but that was fine. I didn't particularly like it when people helped me, but still, he could've made my day a whole lot easier.

First of all, I took my car to work because it was way too hot to walk. I could actually feel the burning sidewalk through my old Converse.

Secondly, I was at Starbucks because I needed at least two shots of espresso to wake myself up, but as I was just leaving the store, I bumped into some bitch who wasn't looking where she was going and both her coffee and my coffee spilled onto my white uniform. And guess what, the girl forced me to buy her a new coffee because she claimed that it was my fault.

Work was still a complete pain, especially with Braiden asking me what the huge brown stain on my white shirt was, but I was able to bear it. I didn't know how I didn't end up exploding in his face, but I considered it an achievement.

Then, when I was on my way home, my car ran out of gas in the middle of the street and I had to push it to the nearest gas station, which was in the opposite direction of where I was going and that wasn't easy for a skinny, nineteen year old girl, but I continued to push my car until I saw the flickering lights of the gas station from afar and my spirits lifted just a little bit.

Then, that's when the rain decided to come.

It didn't stop me though. I still kept on pushing as the rain got in my eyes and dripped at the ends of my hair, making some of my cheap hair dye stain my shirt. Great, red and brown blotches on my white shirt totally didn't look disgusting.

Once I finally got to the gas station, everyone looked at me like I had done something crazy as I filled up my car with gas, trying to ignore all the stares, got in, and drove away.

The leather car seat was now wet and there was a small puddle of water forming on the floor of my car, and when I checked my reflection in the rearview mirror my makeup was literally everywhere.

"Don't wear make up. You don't need it," Connor had said earlier that day and I wished that I'd listened to him because it would take forever for me to remove all the mascara and eyeliner that had now made it's way halfway down my cheeks.

And now we're back to my apartment where I was doing just that. I grabbed some makeup wipes and started wiping my face like there was no tomorrow and after about ten minutes all of the make up was gone and my natural dark circles were all that you could see around my eyes.

"What happened to you?" Avery asked as I emerged from the bathroom, but I simply ignored her and she got the message.

I went inside my room, changed into some sweats and blow dried my hair until it was just slightly damp. I was just about ready to just crawl under my sheets and stay there for the next few days but my sister's voice made me stop in my tracks, right before I could even get within ten inches of my bed.

"Gwen! Connor's here!" Avery yelled and I groaned.

The very last thing I wanted at the moment was to see and interact with people and my boyfriend was no exception. Honestly, at that very moment, I wanted nothing more than to just disappear.

"Hey babe," he said, entering my room and giving me a quick peck on the lips.

"I don't want to talk."
