P.B was gone.  Kisha's favorite horse, wasn't in his stall.  Kisha was petrified.  When she recovered her senses, she darted back to the kitchen, and picked up the home phone.  After she quickly dialed the number of her dad's phone, she waited.  And waited.  For 2 solid minutes, her dad didn't pick up.  Oofy, he must be busy... Kisha thought as she canceled the call.  I can't just go looking for him without alerting my parents... she thought.  then an idea came to her.  She went to her room.

Her room's wall was white, like P.B's coat.  Pretty much everything in her room was.  Her blanket and curtains were orange, a light blue bean bag resting next to her bookshelf.  Her desk had a mirror attached, both covered in pictures of horses.

Kisha ran to the desk and opened one of it's drawers, pulling out a small pink pen and a pale yellow sticky note.  She scribbled a message:

Dear mom and dad,

P.B has gone missing!  I promise I will be back soon.  I will be looking for him.  THIS IS A REASON YOU SHOULD'VE GOTTEN ME A PHONE!  I will miss you.  Don't worry, I will pack some stuff for the journey.  Hugs and kisses, Kisha.

As she stuck the note on the front door, Kisha bit back tears, knowing that she wouldn't be coming back soon.  She stuffed her old, jean overalls with some ripe braeburn apples, and emptied out her school bag, replacing the contents with some nature survival gear-flashlight, hairbrush, soap, small knife, etc.  She took deep breaths unsuccessfully attempting in calming herself down a little.  After saying goodbye to the animals in the farm, she headed off on a search for a missing farm horse.
