Chapter 5

I awoke to see myself on my bed, my armour was in its protective case which peaked my curiosity. Who would put me in bed after I collapsed when almost no one was allowed in my room, I instantly sat up as my door opened to reveal Agent Washington.
"I should have known it was you," I grumbled, from what I could remember he had always tried to make sure I was safe, I heard a chuckle as he leans against my wall.
"You looked uncomfortable so I put you into bed, you may not remember much but us Freelancers need to stick together," he shrugged, I nodded and stood up getting into my suit before leaving my room with him. It had been months since I had seen the outside world, I usually collapsed when memories started to come back to me. I still felt like a majority of my mind was still in shock and hiding from itself, I just had to let it come back when it was ready. We were walking down the hall when we heard someone in the training room, so far I had almost overtaken Tex in top spot on the leaderboard after all my training came back to me. We walked into the observation bay and looked down into the training room, Carolina seemed to be pushing herself over the limit with training as she tried to become the best again.

"It's been months she really needs to stop, why can't she accept the fact that she can't win everything?" I mumbled half to myself, I heard a chuckle beside me and I glanced over at Wash.
"It's Carolina we're talking about, she doesn't give up," he shrugged, we turned to leave and headed for the Directors office since we heard he needed us.
"Ahh Agent Washington, Agent Australia good to see you, I have a mission for you both, I want you to sneak into Infinity's temporary camp and see what they are doing with those covenant since they seem to be so attached to them, if you can, try and get the plans on what they are doing next," the Director explained pulling up a hologram of the camp, I examined it closely.
"Last time I saw them when they had me captive the elites called themselves The Swords Of Sanghelios," I added, everyone looked at me and I just shrugged.
"Well they might recognise you then Agent Australia but you are one of our best so we need you on the field," the Director ordered, I nodded. We left for the docking bay after saying goodbye to our friends, I had no clue how long we were going to be away but I didn't feel like chancing it and not being able to say goodbye. We boarded the pelican and I sat near the door while everyone chattered, luckily we were on the same planet as the foolish Swords Of Sanghelios so it wouldn't be too hard to get back to the ship if we were in a dangerous situation.

The pelican landed in a small clearing as close as we could get to the covenant camp without being spotted, the Hull doors opened and I jumped out Agent Washington behind me. We snuck through the forest our guns ready, we soon came upon the camp and I studied it from a distance. It was fully guarded which made me hiss silently, this was going to be a little trickier then expected.
"Alrighty Agent Washington it's your time to shine, I want you to go around the other side and cause a distraction so I can sneak into he main tent and retrieve the data we need," I explain in a hushed voice, he nods and sneaks off through the forest. I wait about 5-10 minutes before an explosion can be heard on the opposite side of the camp, I smirk as the elites run towards the explosion leaving almost everything unguarded. I snuck into the main tent and I groaned as I saw Kelly and Chief guarding the main map and console, they turned their gaze to me and looked rather shocked but I took no notice.
"So if it isn't that little brat who escaped, come back to steal data have you?" Came a venom filled sneer from Kelly, I chuckled and shrugged.
"I don't know, depends on what happens when I get you out of the way," I sneer back, Chief froze and I could see his fists tighten around his gun. I was about to shoot when I felt strong arms go around my neck, I tried to pull my attacker off and I knew it was an elite as it didn't have the spartan armour like I did. Agent Washington broke into the tent to see what was taking me so long, he saw me in a deadly grasp and he froze knowing one wrong move and the elite would snap my neck.
"Ahhh so you work for the Freelancers now, that makes sense as to why you came crawling back here like the snake you are," Kelly hissed, the elites grip tightened and I felt myself longing for air. I motioned for Wash to move back and he did, the elites grip loosened slightly allowing me to take shallow breaths. I began to panic, my first mission and I was probably going to die. I then got an idea, I nodded to Wash who began to back up.
"We just came with orders to get intel, the Director wants to know what you are doing on his turf," Wash half lied, Kelly turned her head towards Chief who seemed to be thinking it over. I smirked and suddenly lurched my elbow into the elites stomach making it let go and jump back in surprise, I picked up my gun and aimed both it and my pistol at my enemies. Washington did the same and my gaze moved to the Master Chief, he seemed lost in thought. Then something snapped inside him and he shot at us, he hit me in the side making me groan in pain. Washington stood beside me his guns always switching targets waiting for another to shoot, I held my heavily bleeding side and glared at Chief. He walked over his presence began to scare me, everyone seemed to step back knowing an angry Chief meant something bad was about to happen. I glared up at him as he shoved Wash away, he aimed his gun and my eyes went wide.
"You leave and tell your so called "Director" we are here because this planet does not belong to him, we will keep this brat who killed one of our own when we saved her until your Director sees not to fuck with us, she will work with us from now on and if you dare show your faces here again we will kill her, now go!" Chief growled, Wash looked at me and I sensed his fear before he turned and ran. I looked up at Chief who watched Wash leave, he then signalled to the elite who had a hold of me earlier to grab me. I was picked up by the back of my neck and I was dragged towards the make shift med bay, I was thrown down and I stood up turning to face them my knife in my free hand. Fear seemed to take control of me making me start to shake, I looked around before giving a sigh knowing I had no choice in any matter.
