Chapter 19: No One Else Matters Right Now

[Taylor's POV]

I walked down the street until I reached a small restaurant at the corner. I walked in and was quickly greeted by....Daena. What was she doing here. She noticed it was me and her smile grew.

"What are you doing here?" I asked her walking up to the counter.

"I'm filling in for my friend Hailey. She's on vacation in Italy for a month" she told me still smiling. I nodded and I was a little nervous.

"So would you like a table or..."she asked waiting for my response.

"Umm...ya" I said snapping out of my gaze. Her eyes were so beautiful. They glistened when I looked at her and all I could think about was that I needed to get to know her.

She nodded her head for me to follow and she lead me to a table.

"How 'bout tonight?" I asked her out of no where.. She gave me a confused look and asked, "what about tonight?"

"Sorry I was thinking in my head. Anyways I meant if you wanted to go out with me tonight...well right now I guess" I asked her a little off edge. She gave me a questioning look, but then her face softened and she nodded.

"I would like that a lot actually" she told me smiling. I smiled back and she told me to come back at 8 when she's done work.

I made my way out if the restaurant with the biggest smile I could have. I walked back to the hotel and up the stairs knowing that tonight would be great. I have everything ready all she has to do is be there.

"Where have you been?" Matt asked once I entered the room. I sat down on my bed still smiling as I lay my head on the headboard. I couldn't stop thinking about tonight well Matt just told me what I missed. To be honest I don't really care about anything that happened well I was gone. I left for a reason and i don't want to be reminded of it.

"Are you listening?" Matt asked waving a hand in front of my face. I snapped my head to look at him and got up from the bed.

"Sorry I'm a little distracted. I gotta go" I said and walked into the bathroom. I took a quick shower and changed into black jeans and a blue and white plaid shirt with my sneakers.

Before Matt could say anything else about my behaviour I was out the door. On my way to the elevator I bumped into a chest. I looked to find Carter.

"Where are you going so happily?" He asked with a smirk. I ignored him and kept walking to the elevator.

Once in the lobby I made my way down the same path I did before. Except this time I'm happy to be walking around.

Right when I walk in Daena greets me with a big smile and a small wave. I smile back and she goes to the back.

She comes back a few minutes later with her bag over one shoulder and she talks to a woman. She doesn't look very happy but then nods and Daena walks up to me.

"Hey" I say. I put my arm over her shoulder and we start to walk down the street.

"Where are you taking me?" She asks in her beautiful voice. Man, I'm so whipped.

"Shh it's a surprise" I tell her and put my hands over her eyes. I lead her to my car where we drive for awhile.

Once she steps out I place my hands over her eyes again and lead her.

"I'm gonna fall and it's gonna be your fault" she tells me with laughter in her voice. I chuckle and continue leading her.

When we finally arrive I removed my hands and wait for her reaction.

Nothing.

She didn't say anything.

What did I do wrong?!

"I..." There was a pause as she stepped away and towards the boat. Yes I know very tacky, but I seems most of the things I do or say are like that now.

"I love it" she breathed out.

"Sorry what?" I ask her to make sure she said what I thought.

"Enough talking lets go" she says pulling me to the boat. I smile as she takes a seat in front of me.

"Why so happy?" She asks one of her eyebrows raised.

"Because I have the most beautiful girl on this boat with me" I tell her a smirk coming to play.

"Well then I guess your lucky" she tells me with a smirk on her face as well.

Things are really turning up for me. Right now this is all I need.

I push the boat and we go on our journey.

"You hungry?" I ask her once we're farther in the river.

She nods and I pull out the picnic basket I packed before.

"I'm not the best cook so your gonna have to bear with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches" I tell her in a serious tone. She laughs and god how great that noise is.

"Your not that bad for someone who can't cook" she says. I laugh at her statement almost knocking the boat down with me.

"If we fall will you be mad?" I ask her.

"Very" she says completely serious.

"Well then" and before she could say or do anything I tip both of us straight into the water.

"Taylor!" Daena's face angry, but then she surprises me.

She laughs.

And to my surprise I laugh with her.

We stay in the water laughing.

When we finally get out the boat is almost sank. I'm gonna have to pay for that after.

"Your an idiot" Daena says in a playful way.

"Ya but I'm your idiot" I tell her with a smirk. I wrap my arms around her waist as the wind starts to pick up. We go back to the car not as wet thanks to the wind.

"Do...do you want to come over to my house. Well not if you don't want to I mean like it was stupid to ask neverm-" but before I could finish my sentence Daena plants her lips on mine.

"I should talk a lot more often" I say with a smirk finding her delicate lips once again.

We release each other for air and I turn the ignition on.

We drive the rest of the way in a comfortable silence.

Daena stayed the night, but before any of you get any ideas no we did not have sex. We're taking it slow and I'm better off that way.
