Chapter Three
Zac's POV
I throw on my jacket and pick up my car keys before I head out to do an interview with Ellen. I lounged in the seat for a minute before I finally start my car.
-At The Studio-
I rested in a chair and waited for my cue to go on. I was slightly nervous because it was Ellen's birthday show and she doesn't know that I have something special planned during the interview.
I stepped out and gave Ellen a hug before I seated myself on the red velvet chair.
During the break I told Ellen about the song I was going to play for her birthday, also how I don't usually play guitar so I obviously had to learn a lot of chords.
I still remember my first guitar lesson, who would forget if your teacher is a multi grammy winning artist?
Her blonde hair flowed while she leaned over to point at where the G chord was.
"That sounds great!" She beamed while we were both seated on her couch.
Taylor and I decided to write a song for Ellen when we're both on the show. Taylor invited me to her house in order to rehearse our song. I arrived and noticed that she baked cookies. The fact that she knew how to bake and probably cook made her more pretty.
I attempted to play all 3 of the chords in a row but repetitively messed up.
She smiled up at me knowing that I was having trouble.
She moved closer to me so that our shoulders were touching, she placed her hand delicately on mine and put it in the right position.
We stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity until she slid her hand off completely.
I try again and the right chord played after countless mistakes. I still feel the warmth of her hand minutes after, and slightly blush when I find myself still making errors and having her touch my hand over and over.
It was getting late and I finally managed to ace all the chords. She wrote down the final draft to our song and handed it to me.
"Can we practice the song one more time before the night ends?" She asks me waiting patiently for my answer.
"Of course," I reply quickly trying not to make things between us awkward.
We practice our song for the last time that night, and I couldn't help myself when I kept looking at Taylor's eyes and thought how beautiful they looked when she sang.
She got up and led me to the door to say our goodbye's.
"I hope you practice the song for the Ellen Show. We wouldn't have a lot of time right before," she explains while fixing her dress.
"Yeah, don't worry about it. I'm sure Ellen will love it," I reply slowly looking up until our eyes meet.
Taylor leans in for a hug and she wraps her arms around my neck and rests her head on my shoulder, I place my arms around her back.
She lets go after a few seconds but I wish it could've been longer.
We say goodbye one last time before I walk away from her happy knowing that I would see her again soon.
-Ellen Show 2012-
I stood nervously waiting for our cue to go on but Taylor stood next to me completely relaxed. How should we walk out? We can't hold hands because Ellen would get suspicious...
Taylor smiles at me and notices that I'm a bit tense, she gets closer to me and we ended up linking our arms. I feel a lot more relaxed now.
We hear our cue and we walk out waving to the audience. We make our way to Ellen, Taylor lets go of my arm and we sat ourselves on the love seat.
The interview goes by quickly but slows down every time Ellen mentions us being together. Taylor immediately denies it but I don't say anything since am I really against the idea of...us?
We play the song for Ellen and everyone seemed to like it.
Taylor looks over at me and I see the happiness in her eyes.
I smile back to let her know I feel the same way.
...
I take out the guitar that was behind my chair.
"I don't really play guitar, and where's Taylor Swift when you need her?" I joked but in reality, it was difficult learning the guitar without Taylor.
I played the song for Ellen, when it was over she looked genuinely grateful.
-After The Show-
I stroll down the hall which has all of Ellen's memorable moments. And find a picture of Taylor and I.
I post a photo of it on twitter and put next to it
"wish you were here"
@Taylorswift13
I ride back home and realize that I haven't seen Taylor in while. I spent every moment after that hoping that I could see her smile again soon.
