Well guys, here it is! It's been a long journey and this part is finally over, see the note at the end for info on the sequel!

Dan awoke some hours later, and at first he was disoriented. The first thing he noticed was that he was very clearly no longer on a helicopter - if the lack of noise and movement was anything to go by. The second thing he noticed, was that he couldn't feel his arm, which was strange because he could've sworn it was his ankle that was injured.

Dan blinked away the bleariness in his eyes and was met with an off-white ceiling, he stared for a few moments, attempting to remember what had happened after he blacked out on the helicopter, but nothing came to mind.

Then slowly, as Dan's senses began to return, he realised that his left arm, the one he couldn't feel properly, was pinned down. In a panic, Dan opened his mouth to yell as he turned over, only for his face to be assaulted by a thousand black hairs and the smell of raspberry shampoo, vanilla, and grease. Phil's smell.

Then Dan realised; Phil was lying on him, fast asleep. Dan stared, mesmerised at the back of Phil's head as he used Dan's arm as a pillow. Dan was in Phil's bed, in Phil's room, and his ankle didn't hurt anymore. Dan craned his head to look and saw that his leg was covered by a pristine white bandage. He also noticed that he was half naked, dressed only in his boxers and a t-shirt.

Dan dropped his head back down onto the pillow with a muted sigh, and turned his head back around to stare at Phil's black locks.

Smiling, Dan curled the arm Phil was sleeping on and gently brushed Phil's cheek with the hand Dan could not feel. He giggled when he felt Phil's lips curl up into a smile.

"You're awake." Phil mused, nuzzling into Dan's arm.

"I am." Dan responded. Phil turned over, though he still held Dan's arm captive. For the second time, Dan was blown away by the intensity of Phil's eyes. The cool blue sparkled despite him having just woken up, and Dan was amazed at the same old innocence that he was beginning to believe would never leave Phil's eyes, despite the horrors he had seen. "How long was I out for?"

"A day." Phil muttered, his cheeks were flushed from sleep.

Dan couldn't even bring it upon himself to be upset that he'd missed a whole day.

"You worried me." Phil whispered, bringing his hand up to caress Dan's cheek. "I thought you were gonna leave me here alone."

"I would never leave you." Dan vowed, using his free arm to capture Phil's hand in his own and giving it a kiss, Phil giggled breathily.

"You big sop."

"What can I say? You bring the soppy side out of me."

Phil smiled, and they lay in silence for a while, neither of them willing to look away from the other's face.

"Phil?"

"Yeah?"

"I kinda can't feel my arm."

"Oh!" Phil gasped, immediately lifting his head off of Dan's arm. Dan chuckled quietly. "Sorry."

"It's okay." Dan reassured him, slowly sitting up, as much as he'd like to stay in bed with Phil all day, he'd done enough lying around for his liking. Phil sat up too.

"Your leg will be fine." He said, catching Dan off guard.

"Huh?" Dan muttered. Phil nodded towards Dan's leg, and Dan looked, only to realise that he'd been absentmindedly rubbing it. "Oh."

"It isn't infected or anything like that, the files say that the...thing...those creatures have isn't contagious or spreadable at all really. The only way you can get like that is if the drug gets inside of you."
