Chapter 38: Valentine's Day

Zayn's POV

It's been two days since the Anaheim show and four days since the San Jose one but today is Valentine's Day and I'm going to go see Lauren at her Arizona show. She doesn't know that I'm going because I never told her. I want to surprise her and hopefully brighten up her day. She told me she's been in a crappy mood this morning. I'm already half way there with Liam because he wants to see Normani too.

"Did you get anything for Lauren?" Liam asks me. I nodded my head and I lifted up my sleeve of my button down shirt.

"LJ? Those are her initials." He tells me as if it isn't obvious.

"Yes, they are. So what?" I inquired rolling down my sleeve. He shook his head but smiled at me.

"A tattoo of her initials makes it seem permanent. Remember that tattoo of Perrie that you got removed? I don't want you to make a mistake with Lauren and regret this new tattoo of yours." He explains. I waved it off and just shrugged my shoulders.

"I love Lauren and I won't regret anything. Plus, it's already been done." I said to him. He chuckled and just gave up the subject.

"Just answer this one last question: What happens if you two end things?" He interrogated. I had to think about this one, I honestly don't know at all.

"Whatever happens, I'm going to keep this tattoo. Lauren has taught me a lot and she's my first real love. She'll always be the first." I described for him.

"Mate, I envy your courage. We're here by the way." Liam says. I smiled at him and we walked off the jet together.

The tattoo isn't the only thing I got for Lauren. I got her many other things too but we'll save that for later. We went to our rented hotel first and then headed to the venue. We heard from a little birdie that they're sound checking all day.

When we get there, we followed a guy in and he lead us to their dressing room. I opened their door to see Luke sitting on the couch, playing with his phone. I suddenly became infuriated and stormed back out the door that we came in from. I have no idea where I'm going but I keep walking anyways. I just wanted to surprise my girlfriend but it looks like I got the surprise instead. I chuckled to myself and just let my thoughts run wild.

What if she's cheating? Why would she cheat if we just got back into our relationship because of cheating? It makes no sense, at all. Lauren confuses me more than anyone else that I know. I love her with all my heart but maybe she doesn't feel the same way anymore? That's nonsense! Why go through all that trouble to get back together if she didn't love me anymore? Maybe so that she could break my heart right back. This is such a sick game that I don't want to be a part of. I finally broke my thoughts and realized that I was getting a call from Liam.

Liam: Where did you run off to, mate?

Zayn: I don't know but I don't want to be found.

Liam: Oh come on grumpy pants. Your girlfriend is looking for you. She's really worried. Let us come pick you up, just tell us where you are.

Zayn: I don't want to be found, Li. Just give me a few hours. I'll be back soon enough.

Liam: And what would you like me to tell Lauren?

Zayn: Tell her I'm buying stuff.

Liam: So you want me to lie?

Zayn: Lie, make something up! Do whatever you have to do, I don't care what it is.

Liam: Alright then... See you later.
