"Help!"
...
"Help me!"
The only sound Felix awoke to was this this; someone shouting from afar.
"Huh...?" Felix mumbled, his blue orbs opening.
He sat up, his head shooting with pain as he did so.
"Shit!" The Swede shouted as his hands instinctively went to his head.
Only then did he remember the terrible fall he had faced. His eyes widened in realization. He should've been dead after all that had happened. Had Joey somehow miraculously saved his life...? This brought into his mind the fact there was some kind of strange bandage on his head, as well as his arms and legs.
"Hello?!"
The voice from before was shouting once again, interrupting the blonde's thoughts.
Felix's first thought was that it was Joey calling for help, and panic coursed through his veins. He shot up to his feet, forcing himself to ignore the pain it caused him. Only afterwards did he realize Joey was right next to him, peacefully napping away.
"Help!"
There was that voice again, but this time it was obviously not coming from the blonde still sleeping on the ground. That meant...there was someone else stuck somewhere in this damn canyon! And they were obviously in trouble. Felix looked down at Joey. He didn't exactly want to wake the poor man up. He needed someone to stay in one spot so they could stay on route to the convention anyways, so he decided to let Joey sleep as he explored the source of the noise.
"Heeeelp!"
This time Felix began following the voice. Walking hurt him, but the fact that one of his friends may be alive kept him going. The voice continued to shout out, apparently whoever was out there had a lot of hope that someone would find him. Maybe that meant there was someone else with him?
This suspicion was confirmed upon the next yelp.
"Phil!"
The man crying was calling out for Phil, which meant there were two people trapped out there.
This made Felix move as quickly as his limping legs would take him. With only the occasional calls for help as a guide, and a few broken and bruised limbs, it wasn't the easiest journey to take.
Eventually, the pleads lead to a small gap between the canyon. Or, at least that's where they sounded like they were coming from. Felix squeezed his body through the small opening, it being just barely large enough to allow him access. After he was through the voice ceased, and Felix was left to search on his own. This part of the trench was different. It wasn't nearly as deep, and wasn't as wide either. It was as if that part had been created after the actual canyon, somehow, some way. It didn't really matter to the Swede, though, he was just looking for people.
Suddenly, he saw dried blood at his feet.
Was this the person he was looking for? Hopefully not.
Following the trail, he came to the source fairly quickly. The blonde had to hold in vomit. There lay the one and only, Tyler Oakley. Or, at least, what was left of him. Apparently when Joey said he found the other man a long time ago, he meant it. Tyler's original injuries were evident. Just as Joey had said, he must have fallen from a large height. His head was practically split in two, and his arms, legs, and neck were bent in all the wrong ways. Now, who knows how long after the actual fall and death, his body was decomposing. It was a miracle Felix was able to recognize the other man. Half of Tyler's body had begun to have been eaten away. It was a gruesome sight.
Felix slowly backed away, unable to look away. After he was a good few feet away, he turned and ran. He ran until he was back through the gap. He couldn't take it anymore; he leaned over a rock and vomited behind it. While he was wiping his mouth off, he heard the voice again, calling out from a completely different direction. The Swede wasn't able to take off right then, after what he had seen. Once he had calmed down, there were only two thoughts running through his mind.
The first was finding the man behind the voice.
The second was merely repeating the words: "Don't tell Joey."
Felix started off on his journey to finding the shouting man in need of his help. By this point he was giving on on his search, after finding Tyler's disturbing corpse instead of whoever he was supposed to discover, it was enough to turn any man away.
These thoughts were interrupted by a certain yell.
"Felix?"
Felix froze in place, too surprised to move. The same voice from before was calling his name, and sounded as if it was right below him.
"Felix!"
The second calling snapped him out of his trance. He looked down and to his right to see a certain Anthony Padilla. Felix would have missed him if not for him shouting out. He was easy to miss, seeing as half of his body was hidden under a pile of rocks. Anthony's legs were trapped under a large pile of loose stones, pinning him to the ground.
"Holy shit! Anthony! It was you calling out!" Felix shouted, full of excitement upon finding his friend.
"Uh, yeah!" Anthony shouted sarcastically. "You-You're supposed to be safe in the conference building, why the hell are you out here?!" He asked, genuinely surprised, and slightly more concerned about Felix's well-being than his own crushing pain for the moment.
"I wasn't just gonna let you guys suffer out here!" Felix protested.
"Okay, I'm not going to argue about this right now. Just, help me!" Anthony yelled, gritting his teeth in pain.
"Oh, right! Right!" Felix said with a nod, and began up rocks from the pile and throwing them elsewhere.
"A-Anthony?" A new, British-accented voice questioned from behind Felix's back, causing him to stop what he was doing and turn.
There stood Phil Lester, a shocked expression etched on his face.
"Phil!" Felix shouted happily.
"Felix!" Phil responded. "What happened?" He asked, almost instantly afterwards.
"I found something that's kind of like a path up out of here. All I had to do was move a few rocks but they kind of all fell with them." Anthony explained.
"A path...?" Felix repeated, then looked up to see there was, indeed, an incline that would be somewhat easier to scale than going strait upwards.
"Felix!"
Once more a voice was calling out his name. Though this time, he recognized the voice.
Ideas began churning around in Felix's brain.
Phil seemed to have heard the shout as well. "Who's that?" He asked.
"Joey, he must have woken up." Felix answered. "Joey! Stay right where you are! And keep shouting!" Felix commanded, loud enough for Joey to hear.
"Phil; get Anthony out of there. I'll be right back with a plan." Felix demanded of his friend.
"Wait! What are we doing?" Phil questioned before complying.
"Surviving." Felix stated simply, before taking off in the direction of Joey's voice.
