"Darling! Liviana! Time to wake up!" I could hear my mother's voice from the kitchen. Slowly, I opened my eyes at looked at my watch on the nightstand. 5:30 am. No, do I really need to get up now!?
"Liviana, are you up yet?" I guess I do.
"Yes, Mom." I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. The sun hadn't risen yet, but the snow outside made it dimly lit.
I walked over to my wardrobe and put on a blue dress that I made of fabric scraps and then threw some of my favorite clothing pieces into my bag. I also threw my sketchbook as well as some papers.
When I walked out of my room into the small kitchen I could see Mom fixing me a sandwich and she had even bought orange juice.
"Mom, you didn't have to..." I know how much it costs, and for us, it is a luxury when we can have juice.
She turned around and smiled, before going back to fixing breakfast. "Of course I did, Hunny! Besides you need your energy on top today." She put down the plate and glass on the table and I sat down, eating.
It was delicious! Even though I soon will get used to palace food, I have a hard time seeing how you could eat a better sandwich.
The second I finished eating, my mom took my plate and told me to go and get my things. I did as I was told, but when I got into my room I could hear a knock on our door and an unfamiliar voice from the hall.
I quickly picked up my bag and walked to the hall. There stood a guard, probably from the palace.
"Darling, it's time for you to go." Mom said and looked at me, a bit sad. Dad stood beside her, holding her hand.
I nodded, put down my bag and walked over to give Mom and Dad a hug, before turning to the guard, that picked up my bag. I put on my jacket and shoes, before following the guard out, saying "Goodbye, love you." to Mom and Dad.
I felt the ice-cold air on my face, chilling me. But not far away I could see a limo with people surrounding it. The guard got them all to move, as we walked through the masses. In a distance, I could see a sign with my name on it, and another with a text saying "Make us proud Liviana!"
It was weird. Seeing all those people, believing in me, rooting for me, made all of this feel a bit more... real, I guess. Not what I needed right now.
We drove for about five hours before we reached The Whites Airport. As we got closer, I could see that there was a mass of people here as well as a camera team. But as I walked out of the car, I walked slowly, trying to take in it all. Every single face. There was even a small girl, that probably was three and around five years old, standing in the front with a big bouquet of white roses.
I walked over to her and bent down to get to her level.
"Hello, love." She stretched forward the bouquet to me. I looked at it before looking at her again, with a surprised smile.
"Is those for me?" She nodded, so I took them carefully.
"What is your name love?" I smiled warmly at her. "Lucy." She said really low.
"Well, Lucy, these roses are absolutely lovely and I am really great full for them. Thank you." Lucy smiled shyly back at me, before I stood up again, and started walking back into the airport.
When I walked into the airport, I probably looked a bit stupid. I was in an awn over how big everything was. Everything happened so quickly because all of a sudden I was on my way to boarding the plane.
As I reached the plane I could see two faces that I recognized. I walked forward and introduced myself.
"Hello. I guess that we are going to spend quite some time together. My name is Livia." I hate my full name, so usually, when I introduce myself I say, Livia. It just.. sounds better.
The blond girl just raised an eyebrow, before answering. "Oh, you are that six... " There were only one other six in the whole selection. "Anyway, my name is Ruby Smith. You may have heard of me. I'm a two."
Oh, yes. Ruby Smith, 19 years old, from Atlin. An upcoming actress.
The brown-haired, smaller girl started talking. "Hi. I'm Ophelia Lake. I'm from Yokon." She waved slightly.
Ophelia was a four and 16 years old. She is the youngest.
