The largest trading company in Korea and one of the most influential in the world was the Kim enterprises. Construction, textile, plantations, you name it, the Kim enterprises owned it all. It was almost 120 years old, founded by the late Kim taejoon. It is no less than a multibillion-dollar company.
This company was run for 27 years by Mr Kim Taemin, the great great great great grandson of Taejoon.
But after these 27 years, the time came for Mr taemin to hand over the company to the hands of his very capable son, whom he had been preparing for the last 22 years,
His 25-year-old son, Kim Taehyung.
Kim taehyung is the man every girl dreams of having. He has the money, and oh, God has gone all out on his looks. He is unbelievably handsome. Simply put, taehyung was the ideal man. But, as they say, no one is perfect. The same goes for Taehyung...
He is an ice-cold person his cold glare can send chills down your spine and his deep commanding voice can make any person shake in fear. He is very strict and also, a workaholic. But who could blame him? He was raised this way. Ever since he was a child, his father trained him to be the very person he is today. A humanoid robot devoid of any emotions, but extremely intelligent when it comes to business and work matters. He was the perfect son to Mr. Taemin and his wife.
Taehyung simply knew no fun. He spent all his teenage years studying business and passing at the top of his class. He had very few friends, two to be exact. However, he did not meet them very often, so he spent all his time alone.
He was constantly surrounded by fakeness. Fake smiles, fake blessings, fake greetings. To Taehyung, this was how people were. They were after his money, his fame, his looks. Women would try to seduce him, get him to sleep with them, and what not? But Taehyung was very strict about these things. He would never let women touch him, as he felt disgusted at their intentions. Slowly, he came to the conclusion that all women that would get close to him, were either trying to seduce him or were after his money.
At this point, he himself didn't know who he was. He had controlled himself. He never let himself break free. He had grown used to this suffocating environment. An environment that he had grown comfortable in.
It was a normal day at the office for Taehyung. With him doing tons of paperwork and attending meetings. But lately, his mother had been nagging him about this future life and the all-important marriage.
"Son, you don't have to marry a girl from a rich household. I am not going to force you into doing that. Just marry a kind and polite girl, who genuinely loves you and not your money.." She kept on lecturing him over the phone.
"Anyways, I am going to come over during lunchtime. I have something to discuss with you". With that, she hung up.
Taehyung heaved a sigh. 'Why is she so adamant on me getting married? I told her, I am not interested in such things..' he thought and carried on with his work.
Taehyung had never bothered to think about his future. All he thought about was work and work and the future plans of the company. He was never exposed to genuine feelings, as far as he could remember. Even his parents. Sure they took care of his every need, fed him clothed him, educated him, but to them, it was in a way like work, like responsibility, like an assignment that they had to do when they had him. They had to hand over the company to someone strong, that someone being Taehyung.
Ring ring the sweet yet annoying ringtone of Taehyung's phone echoed in the posh cabin in which he was seated. The caller ID indicated that it was his mother.
He picked it up and answered with no emotions what so ever "mother".
"Son, I am also intending to introduce you to a person this afternoon. Be sure to be on your best behavior. They are really important people." His mother's voice said.
"Hmmm in the private dining room am I correct?"
"Yes," his mother replied.
"Fine I will be there." With that, Taehyung hung up. He heaved a sigh.
"Who could it be?" Taehyung thought sarcastically but soon shrugged off the question.
Time seemed to fly and soon it was time for lunch. Taehyung rose from his seat and flexed his shoulders. He then wore his coat over this white shirt clad body and went out of the office. He turned to the left which lead to a corridor. No worker was allowed here only special guests were. The corridor was red-carpeted. The walls were a subtle white with intricate black flower patterns.
Taehyung was so engrossed in thinking about the people he was about to meet, that he didn't even see the person who was coming from the opposite direction. He was broken from his train of thoughts by a small fragile figure that bumped into him.
"I am sorry" said the small figure.
That voice I have heard it before
But unfortunately, as he turned, the figure had already reached the end of the corridor.
Hmm strange. Thought Taehyung. He was sure that he had heard the voice before. But couldn't quite remember when. He just decided to let it slide.
He reached the dining room now only the huge mahogany door kept him from going inside. He pushed open the mahogany doors and stepped inside.
Taehyung scanned the door his mother was sitting on one of the chairs of the huge table and opposite to her sat a lady with a kind face, who seemed to be around his mother's age.
Finally, his eyes landed on the lady who was standing. She too looked at him. The moment their eyes met, a look of shock immediately made its way on to both of their faces.
"You," they said in unison. Not believing the situation.
Hey y'all. Hope you like the chapter!
