atlas lies next to me, his breaths heavy and laced with the smell of liquor. (but he's warm.)

trying to bury the bodies i've left behind to create an oasis, but they've left their ghosts in my closet. (i am sorry they pulled their guns on you.)

digging through my wreckage, you are still a star on the edge of my infinity.

(i am magnetic. you can't hide from me even if you tried to.)

the sweet elixir of your mouth pulls me in. you are not my knight, but your mercenary blade keeps all the pretty boys at bay.

(kiss me. please just kiss me.)

i have no money to pay you for you loyalty, only the pearl skin draped over my bones.  pearl skin that catches the pink and blue illumination of my lair. it feeds your lust like the meal of a king. your greedy hands claw and tear at the dark silk draped over my soul with questions and unanswered questions. the sweet violation makes me burn. (i will burn down the house of cards i live inside for you.)

icarus, your shoulders are broad, hung over the backbone of a giant child. a child afraid of my innocent and true eyes. my gaze makes your honesty skip and your bravery walk on its toes. (is it really so hard to be true?)

your wings swallow me whole, throwing me down into your belly of fire. but i am holy, crowning myself with the benefit of the doubt.

the ravens sit above my head, picking at my golden thoughts as the telephone offers you forth like a sacrifice. (but you still run.)

my satin robe barely holds the burning body inside. a body burning for you. clear your throat and say your piece, my love, for i am always listening.

listening for your proclamation to your god.

(they never come.)

meet me in the temple and pray for your life.

(it is all mine now.)

the heart hanging from my sleeve is for you, and the heaven at your back is for me. (you make it heavier than it has to be.)

grab my bones tight and pull my sails to you. show me the map of your mind. this is your voyage. my ropes are yours. they've always been yours. let me be your wings or fall from this holy vessel. choose your words wisely.

your god is waiting.

your god is ready.

your god is in me.

I AM YOUR GOD.
