Caesar's POV~

-3 hours later

"Hey, get up. You've made bail." I hear. The person next to me taps on my shoulder, waking me up. I open my eyes then get up sighing.

After fighting Mr.Ewik and accidentally the principal, they transferred me to a juvenile detention center. I didn't think my mom would have the money to get me out though. Even though she might be disappointed in me, I did it for a good cause.

As the guard walks me around the corner to where the exit is, my eyes shift to the man that blindfolded me and took me to that place in the woods.

My head hangs low as the guard uncuffs me. "This your son?" The officer asks the man.

"Mind your business." He angrily utters. "Ever consider teaching him some house training?" The officer scoffs. Before the man begins walking towards the officer, I hold him back.

The man eyes the officer, angrily nodding with a smirk then jolts back from my grasp. He walks away, me following close behind him.

After getting into his car, an uncomfortable silence falls upon us. "Why?" He mumbles, looking down. I look down at my hands, noticing the bruises on my knuckles, not knowing what to say.

"You got five seconds to answer me."

The fuck? He may put a little fear into me but he ain't my father. "Why do you care? You don't even know me!" I snap. He tilts his head, glaring at me.

He clenches his teeth then punches the dashboard, makin me jump a bit. "That shit don't fuckin matter! I told to look after yo sis and yo momma. How the fuck you supposed to protect them if you in fuckin Juvey?"

I squint my eyes, becoming angry. "It was for a good cause. I was defending a friend—"

"Friend!? You'd put yo family in danger for a fuckin friend? You young niggas kill me. Fuck that friend! What's more important?" He questions, staring at me.

I lick my lips, rubbing my temple. Family will always come first. "Family." I mumble. His eyes widens. "Really?!" He sarcastically says, surprisingly. "Act like it."

"Jus know it was for a good cause, okay. Can you just take me home now so that I can take care of my family like you so desperately want me to?" I roll my eyes in annoyance. He's acting like I don't love my family or care for them.

I put myself in an unknown situation for my mom just so that she can stop drinking. I kissed April so that she wouldn't cut herself anymore. I think I'm doing just fine at protecting them.

He finally starts the car up, chuckling. I glance at him out of the corner of my eye as he begins laughing harder. "What's funny?" I question as he begins driving.

"The fact that I thought you could actually protect them alone. You ain't even aware of what's really going on, mane." He shakes his head. Now I'm heated.

"Aye man, fuck you! I do a better job than any man ever could! I got my mom to stop drinking and my sis to stop cutting!"

"Watch yo tone when you talkin to me Caesar...you jus have no idea what's really happening and what type of protection you really need to provide for them...you can barely protect yoself.." he sighs then continues. "People out to get you because of Gorden. I can't tell you too much for your safety but I was crazy to think a 14 year old could hold it down on his own. You jus a kid." He sighs, shaking his head.
