It still early and a gloomy morning when Allen parked his Porsche outside of the hospital in the doctor's parking bay. He looked up at the hospital which was enveloped a foggy haze while drumming on the steering wheel with his fingers. "Oh what a beautiful morning..." he said with a tone of irony. "Oh what a beautiful day this is gonna be. With perfectly cheery weather." He hated foggy mornings. It just added to the gloom of his daily life and it was especially worse when he had to head into the hospital and find out that one of his patients passed away just before he arrived or have the Grimm reaper pay a visit during his surgeries. "Let this just be a good day." He got out of the car and disappeared into the hospital.
On the surgery floor he walked up to Liz, his favorite nurse. "Good morning Liz."
"Good morning Dr. Chase."
"How is my Jane Doe doing?"
"She didn't wake up yet."
"Not yet? Anesthetics must have knocked her out completely. Can I have her file please?"
"Sure." Liz handed him the file over the counter.
"Thanks." Allen looked at the file. "Her stats look good. She seems stable. Her blood pressure's up a little, but still on the low side. I'll just pop into her room and make sure she's alright." Allen handed the file back to Liz. "While I'm there. A cup of coffee would be nice. I'll come and get it as soon I am done with her."
"I'll get your coffee ready Dr. Chase."
"Thank you Liz. You're my superstar."
Liz gave a broad smile and watched as Allen stepped into his patients room. "Arise and shine sweetheart." She still seemed oblivious to him being there and Allen pulled a chair closer to sit on. "Hey, sleepy head. It's time to open up those pretty eyes of yours. You know this room has got quite a view and it's a bright and sunny day outside." She gave a groan and tilted her head to the side. "Don't let me go and get a bucket of ice water."
Allen's patient slowly opened her eyes to see a blurry image of him sitting on the chair next to her bed holding her hand in his. She frowned and blinked her eyes for a moment until she got a clearer image of the tall, dark and handsome man with the wavy dark hair sitting in front of her. "Are you and angel?"
Allen snickered. "No, I'm a doctor."
"You're a doctor? What am I doing in the hospital?"
"You had an accident. And you ended up here," Allen replied with a smile.
She gazed at Allen somewhat star struck. "Why aren't you wearing scrubs? Aren't doctors supposed to wear scrubs?"
"Not all the time. It's my day off today, but I just came to check if you're okay."
"Will you marry me?"
Allen chuckled. "I'm already married."
"Is she beautiful?"
