On his last day as a surgeon at the hospital Dr. Mitchell Chase was sitting in his office talking to his new partner at an outpatient clinic they opened in Hollywood Hills not too far from the Southern California Hospital where he currently was. Outside Alicia entered his consulting rooms and walked up to his receptionist who was busy putting files in the filing cabinet behind her counter. "Nancy good morning."

"Dr. Harper it's nice to see you. What can I do for you?"

"Is my father-in-law in?"

"Yes he is, but he's in a short meeting. Did you want to see him?"

"I just wanted to come and drop of a small gift from Allen and me."

"I think they will be done any minute now."

"I can come back later, there's no hurry," Alicia replied almost apologetic.

"No, no. Just a minute Dr. Harper." Nancy picked up the phone and called Mitchell's extension. He picked up the phone immediately.

"Yes Nancy..."

"Dr. Chase, Dr. Harper is here to see you."

"We'll be done in a few seconds."

"I'll let her know. Thank you doctor."

Nancy dropped the call. "They'll be done right now."

Just then the doors opened and Mitch followed a young fair-haired doctor out of his office. He paused and looked at Alicia surprised. "What a surprise. What are you doing here?"

Alicia didn't say a word and just stared at him startled. Mitch frowned and looked at Alicia concerned as his partner left his consulting rooms and invited her into his office before he closed the door behind him. "Do you two know each other?"

"It's a long story..." She held out the a box wrapped in gift wrap to Mitch and he took it from her smiling. "Allen and I got you this."

"Thanks Alicia."

"What was he doing here?"

"His my new partner." Alicia stared at Mitch as if she suddenly saw a ghost. Her heart started racing rapidly and for a moment she felt like she couldn't breathe. She swallowed at the lump in her throat. Mitch looked at her concerned as she never acted up like that before. "Alicia, are you okay? Did something happen between the two of you."

She gasped for breath and then stuttered. "I...I need to go." She swiftly turned around and opened Mitch's office door.

"Alicia, talk to me."

"I, can't

Dr. Shannon Lindsey was walking up and down the corridors on the surgery floor looking for Alicia and eventually stopped at the nurses' station before she dropped her patient charts on the counter and gave a sigh. Liz looked at her worried. "Dr. Lindsey, you seem upset."
