Scene 1

In the comfort of the Cohen home, a fairly large home along the edge of a suburban gated community, the inside is decorated with many pictures of their family surrounding the home. Justin is in the kitchen preparing the kids lunches before school, while Taylor was in the living room watching the news waiting for the kids to be ready for school.

Justin: (sounding worried and scared) Taylor, I'm worried about what everyone will think about Josh. Will people like him, will they be mean, will he be mean, I just don't know if we should send him to a mainstream school.

Taylor: (comforting Justin) Calm down, we said we would try this out.You know Ashley, she'll make sure nothing bad happens to Josh, and if something does she will tell us. Plus the school has a great program for Josh to make sure he's ready after he graduates high school.

Josh and Ashley enter the kitchen, Josh is yelling as he enters.

Josh: (Yelling to everyone) Why do I have to go to school? Nobody likes me.

Ashley: (Comforting nicely) That's not true. I like you, so do my friends.

Josh: You're lying your friends don't like me.

Ashley: My friends are always asking me about you.

Josh: Does Alexis ask about me? Does she like me?

Ashley: Alexis asks about you all the time. She likes you almost as much as I do.

Josh: Fine I'll go to school.

Aaron enters the living room searching through everything to find something to eat.

Taylor: Aaron can you take the kids to school, I have to go to work early and your father has to go to court today.

Aaron: I guess, I'm not doing anything today anyway.

Josh: (Jokingly, To Ashley) Well that's nothing new.

Justin: (Loudly, to Josh) Josh, be nice to your brother.

Aaron: (grabbing his keys) Ashley, Josh, do you have your lunch?

Ashley & Josh: (Yelling.) Yes.

Aaron: Then get your shoes on and hop in the car so we can get to school before we're late.

Aaron, Josh, and Ashley exit, leaving Justin and Taylor alone

Taylor: (Laughing, To Justin) And there they go into the wild.

Justin: (Sadly) Don't say that. It makes things sound worse than they already feel.

Taylor: (in a Sing-Song like tone) So now that we don't have to worry about what is going to happen to our children, what are we going to do today?

Justin: We should go shopping, and we always have to worry about the kids.

Justin and Taylor exit, when gone lights blackout.
