Back at The Cohen home, Josh and Ashley are sitting on the floor talking and playing with cards.
Ashley: Looking at Josh while she is dealing cards. How was school today?
Josh: Picking up cards as they are dealt to him. It was good, I talked to Alexis today.
Ashley: What did you talk about?
Josh: Her mom died and she wants me to help her get through it.
Ashley: stops dealing cards. That's good, not the mom dying, but the helping her, what did you say?
Josh: Gets up from the floor to look out the window. I said I would talk to Dad and ask if it was okay.
Ashley: He'll be home soon you can ask him then.
Justin enters
Ashley: To Justin. Hi Dad, Josh has a question to ask you.
Justin: To Josh. Ok, Josh what is it?
Josh: To Justin, nervous. My friend Alexis' mom left her and her dad and I was wondering if it would be okay for me to be a good friend and help her get through the situation.
Justin: To Josh. Of course you can Josh, this isn't something you have to ask us about.
Josh: Surprised. Really, I thought I had to ask you everything.
Justin:hugging Josh. I expect you to ask us if you can go to the store or stay at a friends house, you don't have to ask us if you can have a friend.
Josh: Pulling away from Taylor. Oh, Thank you.
Lights dim everyone exits.
