Scene 7

Ashley, Taylor and Justin are talking in the living room. Ashley and Taylor are on the couch, Justin is in the chair to the right of the couch.

Taylor: Moving towards Justin. I'm worried about Josh.

Justin: moving closer to Taylor. You're always worried about Josh, what is it now?

Taylor: Walking away disappointed. He yelled at Ashley today.

Justin: Speaking loudly walking to Ashley. Ashley is that true?

Ashley: Talking softly Yes, but he didn't mean to.

Taylor: Yelling, moving towards her. How do you know?

Ashley: He has a disability, he doesn't usually mean what he says or does what he says he will do (short pause) right?

Taylor: Using a softer voice, sitting on the couch next to her. Not necessarily, sometimes he does mean the things he says.

Ashley: I hope he didn't mean what he said to me.

Justin: Why, what did he say.

Ashley: He told me, (pause) just nevermind it's not important.

Taylor: Speaking softly, moves closer to her. Ashley, what did he say

Before Ashley can react Taylor's phone rings.

Taylor: Concerned she gets up. It's the school. (There is silence as taylor answers the phone.) Hello.

Josh, off stage, talks to Taylor on the phone.

Josh: Speaking Anxiously. Hi, Taylor

Taylor: Walking around. Hey bud what is it.

Josh: Is it okay if my friend Alexis comes over after school?

Taylor: Yes, we would love for her to come over.

Josh: Thank you!

Taylor: You're welcome bud, are you at school?

Josh: Yes, Alexis is too.

Taylor: I will come and pick you and Alexis up, stay there. He goes to the front door

Josh: Okay, thank you!

Taylor: You're welcome I'll be there soon.

Taylor hangs up the phone.

Taylor: looking for her keys, moving quickly, talking fast. I can't believe it, he just asked if a friend could come over. A girl nonetheless.

Justin: Moving towards him, also speaking fast. I knew this would happen, I just didn't think it would be today.

Taylor: I have to go pick them up, make sure everything is clean.

Taylor finds his keys as he exits through the front door. Lights dim.
