Obscure vision pervade her eyes as she tried to open it. Slowly, she opened her eyes in an unfamiliar room and It felt like she have been sleeping for days because her head hurts. Strong antiseptic filled her nose and with the corner of her eyes, she could see a medicine cabinet and an oxygen mask near her bed. The constant beeping sound of a machine made her curious to know where the sound was coming from, she turned her neck to see a heart rate monitor. Swallowing a lump of saliva, her throat was soar and dry.
Taking in every single thing around the big room, she knew she was in a hospital, but why? What happened to her?. She tried sitting up from the bed letting out a sigh cause her whole body was aching her thoroughly. With every single movement she made to sit up, the syringe attach to her hand couldn't let her, she quickly removed it to get on her feet.
She couldn't stand firmly but she managed to limp to the door. She limped closer, turning the door knob and it slightly opened, revealing an astonished nurse.
"You are awake?!, you should go back to the bed and rest, you're not yet strong enough to walk, miss" the nurse said with a tray on her hands.
"Um..can you tell me what really happened to me? I mean, what am I doing in the hospital?" She couldn't recall anything at the moment, her head was literally spinning.
"You had an accident" The nurse blurted out.
"Accident!?"
The nurse word rang on her head, the car...mum, dad...the black jeep. She couldn't tackle it but she could recall little piece of what happened. But wait.....
"My parents, they were in the car with me. Where are they and for how long have I been here?"
"For five days now" the nurse answered, trying to help her back to the bed but she declined.
What! For five days, what is she doing in the hospital for five days. Was the accident that bad. Could it be that they had a fatal accident? A lot of thoughts was going through her mind.
"Five days!!...so where are they? My mum and dad, they were in the car with me, just right in front of me" her throat was throbbing in pain.
"You should rest..."
"No, please can you tell me where they are? Am fine, I just want to see my parents, I promise I won't bother you anymore" she pleaded with the nurse, slightly shaking her shoulders but she wasn't giving her listening ears. She noticed that the nurse's eyes displays a scarry emotion and it was giving her goosebumps. She knew the nurse was definitely scared of something perhaps she's scared to talk to her. Something was wrong.
The door opened revealing a short bald man wearing a white long coat, she could tell he is the doctor in charge of her health. She couldn't wait any longer as she limped closer to him. She just wanted an answer, nothing much.
"You're awake" he said touching her head.
"Please Doctor, are my parents here?can I see them?" She asked.
"Why did you let her out of the bed. She just regained conscious and you let her parade around!" he referred to the nurse which was quite tensed now.
"Sir, I've been pleading with her to lay down but she declined"
"Please can one of you tell me where my parents are? Why are you not saying anything. Am not invisible you know? Just take me to their rooms am fine!!" She blurted out.
We had an accident and they should be in the hospital, right? of course they had to be in their various room just like here. She thought.
"Miss, please calm down" Doctor said.
