Chapter 17

Ella's POV

Kyle seems to be giving me silent treatment after the whole drama last week either he shoves me off or he won't come to the company for two days or so, maybe he is sick?.

"I want to see your boss, can't you let me?" Wait, that was Claire's voice, what is she doing here. I walked up to my office door, opened it and was amazed at the sight in front of me.

The way Claire angrily storm into Kyle's cabin with the security men trying to wedge her back, baffled me. We didn't make eye contact at all, she just barged in with force, what was she up to? or maybe what has Kyle done.

I knew after how Claire talked back at him, kyle would do something stupid to her. I warned Claire but she kept deaf ears, now see what she has gotten herself into, It was all my fault, she tried to stand in for me, just as before when we were in highschool, we have to go through all the bulls that called themselves bullies, okay those days were the annoying part of my life, but Claire made sure she gave everyone of them their own hot cup of tea. 

Yell and shouts was all I was hearing as Claire stormed out of his cabin, I tried to reach her but she waved me off saying 'I'll talk to you later' as she entered the elevator.

I sat down on my chair speechless, should I go in and ask kyle what was the problem, no am not going in, he will get mad. I checked my wristwatch, 3:55pm. I can't wait to leave this place, and work ends by 5:00pm. I took my IPad, the gift that was given to me by the company a year ago for joining the company, I started watching Riverdale, I was in love with the movie, I had no work to do so I had to keep myself busy by watching this.

Out of the blue, it's 5:00pm already, I picked my bag and turned to my heels, leaving the company. On reaching home, Lucy was in the kitchen chopping carrots and vegetables.

"Welcome home sweetie" she gave me a warming hug and continue what she was doing. I went to my room took a relaxing shower, I put on my purple cropped top and pink pyjamas trouser, I slid my leg into my fluffy bunny rabbit slippers and went downstairs with my phone.

"What's up with your face?" Lucy asked.

"Today is hella something, did claire call" I said.

"No, why?"

We were disturbed by a knock, I walk to the door and it was Claire. "Oh Claire".

We sat on the couch and she started shedding tears on her palm. "Come on Claire, tell me what's wrong, what did he do to you?" I said.

Lucy gave us an unknown look. "What's happening, why is she crying and who is he?" Lucy asked.

"He, is you brother kyle, I don't know what he did to Claire that made her cry this way...this afternoon they were shouting at each other in the office" I said.

"Really, what happened Claire" Lucy asked curiously, touching Claire's shoulder.

"He got me fired by threatening my boss, I don't work in the cafe anymore and you know how much my mum depends on me and my brother need to be discharged from the hospital as soon as possible." She said in between tear, the last time I saw her crying was when my parents died in the car accident. How could kyle be so cruel.

"Dammit" Lucy yelled hitting the knife she was holding on the couch, I forgot she was cutting vegetables, earlier. 

"The worst part of it is that I gave him a befitting slap and I don't know what he will do next." Woa she slapped him. Lucy started laughing out loud and I gave a her a questioning look.

"Thank you Claire, he deserved that. Kyle has been so stubborn and annoying since he was a child, even dad couldn't stop him" Lucy said.

"Am sorry Claire, it was all my fault" I said.
