From hating to dating

Chapter 29~

Annabeth's POV

Today was Jennifer's trial. If we won, she would finally pay for my Seaweed Brain, on the other hand, if we lost, we would have a psychopath on the loose.

"Good morning everyone, my name's Sharon Smith, the judge for today's trial. I sentence the beginning of Jennifer Jessica Goméz' trial."

"Good morning, miss Smith. I'm Athena Minerva, Annabeth Evelyn Chase's lawyer."

"Good morning, miss Smith. I'm Gabe Ugliano, Jennifer Jessica Goméz' lawyer."

"I give the word to Athena."

"Thank you,miss. I'm here to put that psycopath behind bars. Ever since Annabeth has had memory, Jennifer has been constantly attacking my client since the age of 12."

"I'm sorry Athena, but your allegations are incorrect. According to my client, Annabeth had the fault since the beginning, provoking her everytime she found it possible"

"Is that right Gabe? Because according to Annabeth's medical record, she has been at least 4 times in the hospital due to unconsciousness."

"Is that right, mr. Ugliano?"

"Yes, miss Smith but-"

"No buts. Provoking is no excuse to leave a person unconscious."

"Besides Annabeth was kidnapped for one week, and held captive in the Goméz mansion, suffering from many tortures. And I have the evidence right here." My lawyer stated while she gave the judge a file with my medical part and pictures of my injuries.

"Oh my, that is a lot of blood."

"That is just a ridiculous cry for attention from your client, Athena"

"Want more proof, Gabe? The exact same day after Annabeth was taken to the hospital, my other client, Perseus Daniel Jackson, who is currently in a comma, was shot in a visit to Annabeth by your client." I bit my lip in an attempt to hold back my tears but I couldn't. Loosing Percy had hit me hard enough and it send me daggers every time someone mentioned him.

"Got any eyewitnesses?"

"Yes, miss Smith. I ask Thalia Caroline Grace and Clarisse Olivia La Rue to come testify for Annabeth Chase."

In that moment, Thalia who was wearing  a black turtleneck sweater and beige jeans with a pair of grey boots and had her usually tangled hair on a high bun in the middle of her head and decided not to use her eyeliner for once, Clarisse had a button navy blue long sleeved shirt with white jeans and a pair of grey flats and had her curly brown hair on a ponytail, stood up and walked to the podium to talk about my kidnapping.

"Any more witnesses for Perseus Jackson?" The only mention of his name made my tears fall like a waterfall, nonstop. Thalia walked over to the judge and asked her if they could stay to comfort me. The judge nodded in approval and Thalia and Clarisse walked over to me and hugged me while I sobbed to Clarisse's shoulder.

"Yes,miss. I call Piper Danielle McLean to testify for Perseus Jackson."

Piper stood up, wearing a white lace dress with her hair braided on one side of her head.

She began her speech and I could tell she was doing it for the good of me and Percy. The power in her voice almost made the judge cry, since Piper mentioned every single detail in simple words.

She walked to me and hugged me.

"And you Gabe, do you have any witnesses?"

"No, miss Smith."

"With that I have concluded my sentence. I sentence Jennifer Jessica Goméz to 20 years in prison for kidnapping and murder attempt."

I watched Jennifer, as her jaw dropped to the ground.

We were about to go to my house, when Clarisse got a call. "Annabeth, I know you're sad and stuff but I have a little surprise for you."

She drove us to the hospital. I begged her not to because, I would cry with the only thought of not seeing Percy alive again. 

She led me to Percy's room and my eyes widened and I felt the tears ready to fall out.

"Hey Wise Girl!" Said Percy with a huge smile on his face.
