The bell rings. I shove my math notes along with the test I got a B on into the bottom of my worn backpack. Everyone in the class scrambles out of the door, as if their life depends on it, and I follow, spilling out into the locker-lined hallway. Every few steps, I find myself slowing down, stopping, sidestepping, bumping into someone, giving people nasty stares, and starting up again. Doors open, outwards of course, causing me to swerve into oncoming traffic, the loud and obnoxious freshman disseminate into the herd of people making it 2x worse. As I continue walking, I find myself behind a group of it's-okay-to-stand-in-the-middle-of-the-hallway, I've-got-nowhere-to-go people. And I'm stuck.
As I'm stuck behind the hordes of people, four enormously tall football players end up in front of me (one of them being my extremely handsome boyfriend of 2 years).
"Hey, baby" Cody greets, kissing my lips.
"Hey!" I reply.
"Ill see you tonight, right?"
"Yeah, I'll see you tonight!" I smile.
"Sweet. I gotta bounce, football practice."
He kisses my lips once more and heads to football practice. As they walk off, I see Eva and she motions for me to follow her through the tiny gap that leads beyond the blockage, and I go after her. But right after she disappears into the gap, the people in front move slightly, blocking me from the opportunity of reaching my exceedingly boring physics class, five minutes early. I feel it, frustration levels building up, sanity levels crumbling down. I hate high school hallways more than anything. But this is only just the beginning.
