Chapter 8: The Surprise

At Nandini's House

Everyone finishes their food and head to have a chat in the living room.

*Conversation*

Manik: "So Chachaji, do you have any wishes for the wedding. I mean do you want anything for the wedding. Like any special kind of food or anything?"
Chacha: "No Son. We don't need anything. We will just call a few relatives and Nandini's grandmother. That is it."
Manik: "Ok so I will book a hotel for your relatives. From my side I only have my friends and my aunt."
Chacha: "Oh really? Which aunt? We have never heard of her?"
Manik: "Well I think I never mentioned her. She is my dad's sister. She is actually the only one who treats me right."
Chacha: "Oh ok. Yeah I think it would be great if she attends your wedding. We would also love it."
Manik: "Yes. I love her. She has been my favourite family member since birth."

As they all have a conversation, some knocks on the door. Manik becomes suspicious as he thinks it may be the person who threw the paper with a stone. Nandini insists on opening the door but Manik stops her and goes to open the door by himself.
Manik slowly opens the door and they all get surprised. It was Rishabh. He returned from Denmark and gave the family and Manik a big surprise. They all head toward Rishabh to give him a hug as a family.

Rishabh: "I am so happy to see you guys. I   
missed you all so much."
Nandini: "We are also very happy to see you Rishabh."
Rishabh: "Chachi I am so hungry. Can i please have dinner?"
Chachi: "of course. We just had dinner and we were all discussing about Nandini's wedding."
Rishabh: "Yes. Nandini told me about the wedding. That is when I thought about coming here. I just wanted to give you all a surprise."
Manik: "This is was the best surprise. Thank you so much Rishabh. It really means a lot to me."
Rishabh: "it is okay. It is my sister's wedding. So of course i had to attend it."
Manik: "I am glad. Can i ask you something?"
Rishabh: "Yeah sure. Go ahead."
Manik: "Were you the one who threw the stone at the window?"
Rishabh: "No. It was not me."
Nandini: "Then who threw it?"
Chachi: "I think it must be a drunk person. Drunk people always wander around here."
Chacha: "Yeah she is right. Dont worry."
Manik: "Yeah i think Chachi is right Nandini. Let us not stress over that."
They all have a great family time together. Manik takes a leave from Nandini's house. Nandini drops Manik outside. As they reach the car Manik pulls Nandini towards him.

Manik: "So Ms. Murthy you are going to be Mrs. Malhotra in a few days. How do you feel about that."
Nandini: "Well i feel scared. I am going to be surrounded by a monster."
She laughs while Manik gets upset.
Nandini: "Manik no matter what we should always try to understand each other. We should try to not fight and even if we do we should solve it before sleeping. Promise me."
Manik: "I promise you. We will always solve our differences."
As they both have a chat, they hear a sound of trees moving from the backyard. They both rush to the backyard but find no one there.
Manik: "what was that?"
Nandini: "i think it was the person who threw the stone."
Manik: "Listen. Don't get out of the house. Just try and be cautious."
Nandini: "Don't worry. I will be careful."
They both head towards Manik's car and Manik leaves.

The Next Day
Manik picks Nandini and Rishabh, and they all head towards Navya's house.

At Mukti's House
Mukti: "Zubeen, let us all go for a trip. We can go to Goa."
Zubeen: "Yeah we can but i have a lot of work for the next 7 to 8 days. So maybe after that but Goa is not bad."
Mukti: "Yeah we can go after you are done with your work. I will book everything. Dont worry."
As they have a chat, Zubeen pulls Mukti towards him and expresses his feelings.

They both leave to meet up the group at Navya's house.

At Navya's House

They all feel overwhelmed to see Rishabh.

*Conversation*

Navya: "It's so good to see you Rishabh! We missed you so much!"

Rishabh: "I missed you too. How is Abeer? He is probably as tall as me now."

Navya: "Haha. No, he is still in primary school."

Rishabh: "Oh! He still has a long way to you."

Mukti and Zubin arrive as Navya and Rishabh are having their conversation. They both get surprised to see Rishabh at Navya's. As they have a conversation, Manik gets a call and he moves outside to the garden.

*Conversation*

Manik: "Listen, what do you want?"

Caller: "You listen! Get ready for drama."

Manik feels confused. Who is this person? And why does he want to create drama in my life?
