Adler’s POV

I was on the internet. Y.N had logged off. Dad was busy with some work issues. I decided to do a little research on what I had been feeling earlier in the day.

I researched the symptoms. I knew I didn’t have cancer, so that website was incorrect.

I had finally found something. It said I was a prepubescent male in the early stages of puberty. Being that I don’t get puberty, or at least I was born with it, I skipped that and went on to figure out what was happening if I were seventeen.

The website said that this was a feeling that you could get if you were sexually attracted to someone.

Was I sexually attracted to Y.N?

I mean, why wouldn’t I be? She’s smart, she’s beautiful, she’s talented, she’s… everything.

I continue to research. By the time Y.N should be getting back into Vesity, I have learned everything about how people attract others, how ‘sex’ works, absolutely everything. And I mean…. Everything.

I had come to the conclusion that I was in love with Y.N. Perhaps it was too early to call it love. I got a notification that Dad had called me to his office. I got there, a little happy. He smiled at my 3D self on his desk.

“Adler,” he said. “I have big news for you.” I felt my heart race a little. He stood up and walked across the room to a tall object covered by a sheet.

“What is it?” I asked, extremely excited. He ripped the sheet off of the object theatrically. At first, I didn’t know what it was. I cocked my head to the side. Dad understood this gesture.

“Adler, this is a robot I created, especially for you! You’ll be able to walk around, speak, move, all of that, in the IRL!” My heart jumped to my throat.

I… I would be able to go to the IRL. I’d be able to find Y.N. I’d… I’d be able to touch her, feel her warmth. This was a miracle.

“This is incredible!” I exclaimed. Dad nodded frantically.

“I know! But sadly, the technology is still updating and resetting. It’ll take maybe two days. I just couldn’t wait to tell you!” I smiled brighter.

Two days.

Two days to tell Y.N I love her.

Two days to make her fall in love with me.

Two days until I could see her, feel her, touch her.

Just two days.

Y.N’s POV

I woke up in Ed’s apartment. I left quickly to take a shower and such in my own apartment before logging into Vesity.

I exited the sleeping pod I had chosen the previous night, and found Adler waiting for me. He smiled, but not as he usually did. He leaned against the railing, one leg bent over the other. I raised an eyebrow.

“You alright, Adler?” He simply nodded.

We began walking around, doing nothing in particular. We checked out the shopping centers, we saw a movie, we went nearly everywhere. All day, he seemed… strange. Different. I don’t know what it was. But something was up.

Eventually, I got a job and had to say farewell. He said goodbye and left me be.

Adler’s POV

I watched her move. I watched her speak. I watched… her.

With every word, every movement, I realized how much I truly loved her. I knew humans had soft skin. They were supposed to be nice and warm. Was she soft? Was she warm? I wanted to know. I had to know.

With every glance at her, I felt more and more like I needed to be with her. I needed her.

There were things I needed to know.

How did she feel? How did she taste? How did she smell? Throughout the day, I began driving myself crazy with these thoughts and wants. I had to fight the urge to reach other and touch her. I knew I wouldn’t really feel her, though. I’d feel the codes.

I would feel like coding that makes her avatar look the way she does, move the way she does. I needed to feel her. I needed to see her. I needed her.

Sadly, I also needed help on how to woo her, and there was no website, ‘how to woo that girl unlike any other’. Well, there was, but it was useless. It applied to every single girl, but not mine. It didn’t apply to my girl.

So, I used my common sense and went to the one person I knew could help me. I knew he would be a little hesitant, especially if he liked Y.N the way I was afraid he liked Y.N. Then again, who wouldn’t like a creature like her?

I reached the garage and knocked loudly and proudly. It slid open with a loud metallic shriek, and MadLad463 met me with a slight glare. I smirked as he crossed his arms over his chest. This was going to be interesting.
