Edwin glared at Adler. He had never liked the boy.

Adler smiled widely at Edwin. He would need his help if he were ever going to get Y.N.

“What do you want?” Edwin grunted.

“Your assistance,” Adler responded simply. Edwin took note of how different he was acting.

“For what?”

“For Y.N.” Edwin began closing the garage door. “Hold on! I just need to talk to you-”

“No. I thought you had a thing for Y.N. Now go away.”

Adler took a moment and teleported into the shop before the door closed. Something players can’t do. Edwin looks at Adler, confusion painted on his face.

“How did you-” A realization dawned upon him. Edwin’s hand curled into a fist. “You’re not normal.

Adler let out a laugh. He might not have realized it, but this laugh was cold, cruel, cackling. Edwin fell into a fighting stance.

“No, Ed. I’m not normal.”

Don’t call me Ed,” Edwin spat. “Only Y.N can call me Ed.” Adler cocked his head to the side, a crazed smile widening on his face. “What are you?”

Adler took a step towards Edwin, who took a step back.

“I shouldn’t exist,” Adler said, still walking towards Edwin at a painfully slow pace. “I shouldn’t have been born, and yet here I am. The entire Vesity is at my fingertips. I can do anything I want, get anything I want.”

Edwin kept his head held high, ready to physically fight him in necessary.

And I want Y.N.”

Edwin was the first to swing, a fist darting towards Adler. Adler caught it in his light green coded hand. His eyes seemed to be flashing, no longer just their normal green. Edwin hesitated when he saw Adler’s eyes flash a horrid, golden yellow.

Adler’s hand went straight through Edwin’s chest. The boy gasped.

Thanks to the gaming suits, he felt every punch, every hit, everything. A hand through the chest did not kill the real Edwin, it would only kill his avatar.

But Adler couldn’t have him telling Y.N he killed him. Oh, no. He can’t have that.

You’re a monster,” Edwin spat at Adler.

“No,” said Adler. I’m a glitch.”

“She’ll never love you, you know.” Adler’s psychotic smile faded for just a moment.

Adler pressed his lips together in a grimace. Edwin smirked proudly as blood began falling from his avatar’s chest and lips.

“And I can do something a glitch like you can’t.” Adler glared harder, as if it would stop the dying avatar from speaking.

“Which is?”

I can feel her.”

All of Adler’s anger, all of his frustration, suddenly surged through his body. All of his green was replaced by horrid, glowing yellow. The sparks ran through his body and straight into Edwin’s Avatar. He screamed, and the avatar faded from Vesity.

Adler breathed heavily, his yellow skin glitching and glitching, trying to be green once again.

But in an apartment, right next to Y.N’s, Edwin James laid dead in his Vesity console.

Police would say it was a malfunction in the Vesity software, leading it to electrocute him to death.

But Adler knew the truth.

Adler knew the truth.

And Adler knew he wouldn’t stop. No, no, no, no.

He wouldn’t stop until Y.N L.N was his. And only his.

A girl like that didn’t belong in the IRL. She belonged in Vesity, with him. They deserved Vesity. No one else.

All those people, making Vesity bad and over populated.....

No, they didn’t deserve Vesity. Only he and Y.N did.

So he would make it that way.

No matter how long it took, no matter who he had to electrocute, Adler would find a way to get Y.N onto Vesity, permanently.

And he swore he would find a way to shut everyone else out.
