You looked at the wires and tubes all over your body. Blood dripped down. You knew knew enough to know all of these wires were important, and if even one was torn out of place, the plan would fail.
Life trapped with this psychopath was not an option in your mind. You had to escape, even if that meant death. Your hands, both tied high above your head, were trapped so you couldn’t move them.
Adler’s unmoving body stood a bit away. You had to move quickly as a plan formed in your mind. With all of your remaining strength, you began swaying your body back and forth, trying to loosen at least one wire.
You glanced at Adler. He was going to be back soon. You just knew it. You began moving faster, until finally, you heard a loud snap.
You hadn’t broken a wire, but instead the bindings on your hands. With your newly freed wrists, red and sore from the tight bindings, you undid the hook on the harness keeping you in the gaming station.
The harness was apparently the only thing also keeping your weakening body standing, because as soon as the harness let you go, you fell to the floor. Blood began running out of your sides at a fast rate. You screamed in agony.
Adler’s POV
Everything was set. Took long enough, too. I didn’t want to spend a single second away from my dearest, sweetest Y.N. It was excruciating torture.
In less than ten minutes, everyone in the world would feel absolute devastation wash over them as Vesity kicked them out. Mass panic would ensue around the world.
But that didn’t matter to me. I would have Y.N and all of Vesity. The world would be my oyster. Everything would be perfect. It was finished, and now I just had to wait. I transferred back to my robotic body, expecting to see Y.N waiting for me. I was met with a horrible sight.
No POV
“YN!” exclaimed Adler, kneeling beside you. You hadn’t realized he came to just quite yet. “W-What did you do!?”
You didn’t look at him. You couldn’t. You could barely move. The world was growing colder by the second. Adler turned you over on your side, caressing your face. He cradled you in his lap as your blood began to coat his fake skin.
“W-Why… why did you… did you…” You didn’t respond. You didn’t dare. “But I set everything up. Everything was going to be perfect… for us… for you…”
Once again, you didn’t speak. You leaned your head against his chest as you bled out.
Shockingly enough, you weren’t scared. You knew there was someone waiting for you. Someone good, and loving. Someone by the name of Edwin James.
A bright light seemed to glow down upon your face. It was warm, unlike the rest of the world that seemed to be dropping in temperature quickly. A certain blonde with glasses approached you through the light. Your eyes widened as your best friend, your dead best friend, kneeled beside you, hand outstretched.
“Hey, YN,” he said, his familiar southern accent nearly bringing a tear to your eye.
“Edwin,” you murmured. You reached out to take his hand.
Then it all went dark.
Adler was left, staring at your dead body in his arms. Blood still flowed out from you. Your last words were… his name? How could you? He wasn’t here for you. Adler was. He didn’t comfort you. Adler did. He hadn’t loved you. Adler had. He didn’t touch you. But Adler did.
Less than five minutes. Adler left his body, emotions flooding his mind like horrible, icy waves on jagged and rocky shores. Nothing could compare to this horrible, disease of thoughts.
TIME SKIP
Chaos reigned.
Adler’s plan had backfired, but he didn’t care about anything anymore. There was no use in existing anymore. You were dead.
When everyone was expelled from Vesity, most people were given horrible electric shocks. Nearly half of the people died instantly, another third died from wounds later on. The world was facing a mass hysteria. Over half the population was taken out in the blink of an eye.
Most feared that this would bring on possibly the apocalypse. Death and destruction reigned. Mankind was brought to its knees, no idea how to survive and adapt to the world they hadn’t lived in for what felt to be an eternity.
All because a glitch fell in love.
