Adler stood by the wall as if it were a floatation device and he could go overboard at any moment. This ocean of emotions was something Adler wanted to get out of as soon as possible. Why the hell did looking at Y.N and Edwin together make him feel so… so… he didn’t even know how he felt!
The three went everywhere, from seeing a movie together to riding a roller coaster in the Interactive Wonder World Park. Eventually, Y.N got a notification, and she took a step away from the boys.
Edwin could nearly feel Adler’s glare towards him. He brushed it off. Bad choice.
“Hey, Ed,” called Y.N. Both boys looked to her. “I have a job. I’ll see you later.”
“See you,” Edwin called back. Adler followed Y.N, being that he didn’t understand what was happening or why she didn’t say goodbye to him. Maybe she wanted him to follow her? I catch up to the avatar, and Y.N jumps.
“Adler!” she exclaims. The glitch smiles at Y.N brightly, sweetly, innocently. Y.N smiled back. “What’re you doing here?”
“You didn’t say goodbye, so I thought you wanted me to follow you, and I don’t know what your job is, so I am very curious.” Y.N laughed at Adler’s innocent nature. Adler felt something. He just didn’t know what.
“You know, Adler, curiosity killed the cat.” And with that, Y.N turned and kept walking away. Adler, not understanding the statement, followed close behind. Y.N didn’t protest the boy following on her heels like a puppy following it’s master.
The two arrived at another part of Vesity, a cute cat cafe game. The two entered the sweet looking shop. A nice looking female avatar smiled at the two.
“Hi!” she called. “Welcome to the Cat Cafe!”
“Table for two, please,” Y.N said to the woman. She nodded and lead Adler and Y.N to a table. “Do you want to order anything?” Adler shook his head.
“I thought we couldn’t eat in Vesity.” Y.N began laughing quietly. She has a beautiful laugh, thought Adler.
“No, silly. We don’t order food. We order cats.” Y.N motioned for the cafe woman to come to their table. “Fat ginger, please.” The woman nodded, and a tubby ginger cat appeared in Y.N’s lap. The electric cat began purring as Y.N pet it. “See?”
Adler smiled and nodded vigorously before ordering a cat for himself. The two sat in silence as they pet cats in the well lit cafe. Another person entered he cafe. A female avatar, with a bright smile and cat ears.
“So, what’s your job exactly?” asked Adler, still smiling at the cat in his lap. He didn’t notice how Y.N’s eyes were trained on the newcomer. The woman sat at the table beside theirs. with a siamese cat in her lap.
Y.N looked at the woman, who smiled at Y.N. Y.N set the ginger cat on the table and turned to face the woman.
“Hi,” she said. Adler watched the interaction. What was Y.N doing? “I’m Y.N.” The woman nodded.
“I’m Christy,” she replied. (if your name is Christy, change it)
“Nice to meet you Christy.” The two females smiled at each other brightly. Adler was so confused, he stopped petting the cat in his lap. “Do you know a guy with the username Awesome69?” Christy raised an eyebrow, and hesitantly nodded.
“I do… why?” Y.N’s smile turned slightly sinister.
Adler watched this. As her face changed, he felt something, an emotion. He didn’t know what it was, though. He felt, a little warmth in his abdomen. And it was heating up every second he looked at Y.N’s sinister face.
In one movement, Y.N flipped out her war scythe and sliced Christy right in half. The woman who ran the cat cafe screamed. Y.N sent a done message.
“What the hell!” shrieked the cat cafe woman. “This is a safe site! Get out of here!” Y.N and Adler set down the cats and left.
By the time they were outside, Adler felt extremely uncomfortable in the nether regions of his avatar. What was this feeling? Why couldn’t he look at Y.N without being even more uncomfortable? He’d have to look this up later.
“So… you’re an assassin?” asked Adler as they walked. Y.N was checking to make sure that Awesome69 had sent her the right amount of coins.
“I prefer the term merc,” she replied. “Does that make you worried? I promise I won’t kill you unless someone puts out a hit on you.” Adler chuckles.
Nobody knows he exists. There is nobody to put a hit on him.
“Okay.” The two explored Vesity for the rest of the day. The entire time, Adler felt something. He needed to know what.
