Why won't you speak?
Why? Why? Why? They walked fast out of school. It always had to end badly. They walked so fast their breathing had become a mess. Panic arose in their throat. People they knew were all around. They just wanted to be alone. No day would ever be okay. They carried on pulled themselves away and got to the forest. It was quiet. Quiet enough for the thoughts to scream and finally be hear.
Where I happen to be?
All around them was nature. All around them was beauty, something they had rarely seen these days. It was hard for them to realise that there's always light ahead of the darkness. That light was so far away though.
Silent in the trees.
They sighed as they unpacked their bag. Wrote a letter apologising to those who mattered and put it in their pocket. They tested a brand. Snap. Not that one. They tested another one. Snap. Not that one either. They tested another one. It was fine. Held their weight, didn't creak or bend when being pulled down. Perfect.
Standing cowardly.
They rummaged through their bag and sighed as they pulled out the rope. It was heavy and messy to handle. They started folding it, knotting it, tying it, bending it and whatever else until they got what they wanted. They threw one end over and looked through the gap that was at their level.
I can feel your breath.
Nobody would care. They stepped up and put their head through. They kept their eyes opened. A bird flew down from a branch and watched them. The bird tilted its head and chirped. Rustling came from the same tree it came from and the bird flew away. It joined a flock with dozens of its kind. Peaceful. Imagine being as free and as happy as a bird. Spreading those wings and flowing with the wind. No people to judge you, laugh at you, spit on you or ridicule you. Well. They'd be with the birds.
I can feel your death.
With a snap, the slow creaking of the rope echoed through the forest. Alone and gone.
I want to know you.
I want to see.
I want to say...
Hello.
