Summer was officially over. After my dramatic first year of high school I needed a bit of space from school. High School was scary, full of people who wanted to be better than everyone else. I thought my best friend Carter was different. He was always on my side and we were inseparable. But whilst I was trying to do my best with math, he was busy  trying to fit in and started drinking. We started fighting on a daily basis and I had practically no one.

I didn't really care anymore, I was just mad at me for losing my only friend since kindergarten. I finished my freshman year and during the summer holidays, me and my parents moved across the country.I didn't tell anyone about my Dads new job at CNN. Well who should I tell, I had nobody. We moved to New York, which I didn't really preferred because it was quiet a busy city. But I really wasn't the one to decide. It was raining a lot but I liked it, it was comforting.

Currently I sat in my car in the parking lot of my new school, chewing on my fingernails. It was my first day of sophomore year. I was terrified, it was out of my comfort zone but..well, I needed to graduate. It can't be that bad, I tried to convince myself. It was foggy outside, mainly because it was so early in the morning. I saw the shadows of other students creeping around the campus. The radio was still on and I listened to the woman talking. Her voice was calming.

''So before their third Madison Square Garden show the four boys will stay for three months in New York writing songs for their fourth album. They had an incredible year touring with All Time Low and we all hope that this year will be just as good to them. Their number one single that they released two years ago is still stuck in our ears so we will play it again. Here is Teenage Que-"

I turned the radio down and opened the car door. The cold September air hit me but I grabbed my backpack and walked to the school entrance. I sighed as I saw all the cheerful people greeting their friends, that they sure didn't bother calling in the last three months. I was just one minute in the building and I was pretty sure that I hated it.

As school was over I hastily headed to my car and all I wanted was to just crawl into my bed and sleep for the next three years. All the people in my school were somehow celebrities. If you weren't at least in one oatmeal commercial as a kid you were an outcast. So me being an outcast again, I sat in the last row in all classes and tried to follow the teacher. I was sick of being a loser in practically everything but I couldn't do anything against it. That's just how I was.

I decided to drive to the next Starbucks since I lived in the center of the city that never sleeps. I needed some extra calories that would cheer me up. The traffic was horrible and it was only 4pm. All I heard was car honks and yelling. I sighed and waited until the streets were clearing up again.

As I saw the green sign I parked my car and walked with my wallet inside. Surprisingly it wasn't busy and i exhaled. I wasn't a big fan of crowds. I ordered a caramel coffee with extra chocolate sauce and walked out with my hot drink.

Luke POV:

"Yeah I'm just gonna grab myself a coffee, I'll be back in like ten minutes. The interview starts in like an hour , chill", I laughed into my phone as I walked down the street.

"Just get me a plain coffee loser", Michael said from the other end and I quickly answered yes before hanging up. I looked down at my phone, replying to a text from my mum as I walked into somebody petite.
