The moment we're walked in the living room area. I watched Marcus's he stalk toward us, kept his eyeing on me. I don't know why, but I'm afraid if he might hurt us in other way that he's approach us. Like he's charging on his prey or something.

But what about Cortex?

"Where's Cortex?" I spoke as I could.

Then he final halt and his features wasn't expected that I ask.

"Cortex?" He tilt his head in confused and lean close to me. "Who the fuck is Cortex?" Grimacing on his face. "You mean, the asset?"

"He's creatures, wasn't it?" He ask correctly, starting off by smirk and act smart. "I gotta say... he's not mine or pet if you're preferring to. But she is."

I turn at Marcus's pointed at someone, Alla. But Alla? Is she— is she keeping him?

"That right." She says, circle me like a vulture and smile. I stiffened. "Have you gotten him bored of your husband already? I told him you couldn't satisfy for him."

"Don't talk about her," Josh snarled.

Suddenly, everybody turn their attentions at him with bit full of serious and surprise at Josh's warning. Selina was trying to pulling him back from interfering us.

"Or what? Are you gonna hit me?" Alla smirk, step toward him with smiled but it was all fake. "I don't think so."

"That's enough." I said.

Resisting the urge to lower my eye, I met her gaze straight on. She moved closer, encasing me with her overly sweet perfume. With her high heels, she was several inches taller than me, but I straightened my spine.

But she wasn't that much older than me, perhaps twenty, but she had a world of experience on me.

"Maybe you think Jack is satisfied with what you can give him," she began in a low voice. "But I've known him for two years, and he's never settled. I was the only woman he returned to over all that time, because I gave him what he needed."

Two years? Even if he'd been with other women in that time, why had he kept her around?

Alla's smile widened. "I've let him do every kinky thing you can't even imagine, Gianna. You don't look like you are willing to take his cock up your stuck-up little frigid ass."

It was enough. I took a step toward her, bringing us too close, and narrowed my eyes at her. If Alla thought I'd let her intimidate me again, she was throughly mistaken.

"You will stay away from Cortex." I said quietly but firmly. "You are nothing but a cheaper than a whore, that's for sure." I hate her ugliness brought out my own viciousness, but I couldn't take anymore.

She raised her palm to slap me when a shadow fell over us, and Marcus's strong hand clamped around her wrist. She struggled against Marcus's grip as he dragged her away from me.
