Zane's POV
Me, James, Michael and Peter were all stood in the entrance foyer, it was a large room filled with gold mouldings, red walls and a small diamond chandelier. Paintings hung on the wall that must have been hundreds of years old and the sofas that were placed at the edge of the room must have been just as old. The flooring was red carpeting from wall to wall, a wide strip also followed up the large staircase that we stood facing, with the large doors made of marble and gold which led into the ballroom.
I started messing with my tie that was part of my new Armani tuxedo and I was trying to get it just right; since I had been with Lea, I hadn’t had to do why own tie because she always sorted it for me, now that I was stood on my own it had become a real challenge.
It had been six months since we had last been here in this castle, it was now the middle of June and we had just finished our last year of college. Peter and Mia had decided that it would be better to leave the coronation until after we had finished so that we could all take our new roles on fulltime but they still offered advice to the council and hired the new council members in that time.
There had been a lot of paperwork to sort out of the last six months, Peter had to arrange for a new pack leader, they had also had to decide who their advisers would be and they also had to pick which one of us would take over the council once they decided to resign or if they passed away. None of us had been allowed to help with the decision as Mia and Peter had wanted to keep it a surprise for tonight.
Peter finally saw me struggling with my tie and came over to help me sort it out. “You look a little nervous Zane.”
“This is a big deal; you’re going to be the supernatural equivalent of a royal family. I don’t want to mess this up for you.” I replied simply.
“You won’t, just relax. You have bigger fish to fry tonight.” He chuckled with a knowing look which only put me more on edge.
“They’re here.” James declared.
We all stood in a line at the bottom of the staircase to watch the girls make there entrance. Mia was the first to appear but was soon joined by Ivy, Jade and Lea. I remember each dress distinctively; the bright yellow of Mia’s, the soft pink of Jades contrasting against the powerful blue of Ivy’s. But Lea’s was extraordinary, taking the soft blues of her eyes and mixing it with the more dominant purples, the dress looked as if I were staring into the same delicious eyes that were looking right at me.
The four of them glided down the steps, their dresses flowing around their feet while the light from the chandelier glittered against the crystal gems which decorated each of them in a unique but dazzling way. I suspect that each of the men which lined up with me felt exactly the same as I had, they felt like they were truly in the presence of royalty.
As they reached the bottom of the steps, each of us stepped forward and raised our hand for our partner. Peter began to lead us away and towards the doors. Ivy, Michael, Jade and James all followed in sync while I remained frozen, staring at Lea. I looked over every inch of her, from her curled golden hair to the hem of her dress. She looked utterly breath taking.
I stepped forward and held my hand out, barely containing the joy I felt when I saw her; she delicately placed her hand in mine and we both moved to stand behind James and Jade. A loud fanfare began behind the door which was soon followed by the muffled sounds of someone making a speech which I assumed was to announce our arrival.
